Miker Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Salgado doesn't head the ball, his hair does it for him.

Hughesy Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Not sure if we should of a had a penalty for handball just then. If anyone says we play hoofball or long ball then watch everton!!
Tango Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 For a side with 5 midfielders on the pitch, we are giving Everton acres of space. The defence and the team's passing as a whole have been woeful in equal measure. Very poor.
Amo Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I am surprised Salgado was started at right-back. If anything, I expected Sam would slowly introduce him to midfield to protect him. Sounds like Chimbonda or Emerton would be preferable there at the moment. Also, Yobo and Distin will eat Roberts all day long.
modes98 Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Not sure if we should of a had a penalty for handball just then. I think it would have been harsh, but his arm was out. Need to mix it up second half, get the subs on early so they can make a difference.
booth Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 So one up front again with 3 strikers on the bench What's the point in sacrificing a striker for a midfielder if midfield is going to be completely ineffectual anyway. May as well have four ineffectual players than five and stick another man up front.
joey_big_nose Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Salgado has been shocking! Small and slow. I would take him off for nelsen and reshuffle. Bit disruptive maybe but we need to stop this. All their attacks have come down the right.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 We won't get anything out of this with one up front.
PAFELL Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I think it would have been harsh, but his arm was out. Need to mix it up second half, get the subs on early so they can make a difference. Hope the result changes, as things stand now rovers are in the bottom 3. Big Sam will sort it out - Salgado off, probalbe Nelson on, maybe even Bennie.
Mr. E Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Subs should be: Salgado, Andrews, Roberts OFF Nzonzi, McCarthy, Hoilett ON but then again I'm not an expert like BFS.
Presty On Tour Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Terrible half! There has to be changes at half time.
John Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Has to be at least 1 change for the start of the second half - don't think Everton are that great at the moment.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Time to switch to a 4-4-2? Only fear is being outnumbered by Everton in midfield, but we are losing so it may be worth the gamble. If we stick with the 4-4-1-1 i'd be tempted to take off Roberts and perhaps bring on Kalinic, might link up well with Dunny, or maybe bring on Junior to link up with Kalinic. Got to do something.
yellowsubmarine Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Good news for Lars. He will get his place back.
philipl Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Salgado and Andrews not at the races today. Roberts getting very little change up front. Dunn has been immense. MGP doing well. Oh and we are back in the bottom 3 as things stand.
frosty Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Come on boys, still time yet! Good to hear about Dunny being good again.
briansol Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 You could mistake Salgado for Tugay playing right back. I thought he was supposed to be much faster. Very poor first half by us. Roberts isolated, needs a partner and Dunn doesn't get much space. Get Junior on and try a 4-4-2. We are already outnumbered in midfield so no worries there.
Tango Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 R.e. the comments about Andrews being subbed, I'm shocked. I hadn't even realised he was playing.
greco Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 what a boring first half, not an impressive performance so far, our attacking play is really lacking creativity. hopefully sam has another plan for the 2nd half.
booth Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Does Sam not realize that not including Andrews in midfield will not have any bearing on the game at all and he could instead stick Kalanic up front with Roberts? Unfortunately I think we're more likely to see McCarthy being brought on than Kalanic.
yellowsubmarine Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Our goal scorer defender is off. Hmm...
Mike Graham Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Givet off, Admiral on wot !!! is big Sam nuts?
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Givet off, Admiral on I'd be ###### off i was Givet...
booth Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 What the hell!!!!!!! Sub decisions are fast becoming a joke, unless Givet has taken a knock.
