rebelmswar Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Brown's in goal..thats all they've got on the official site. Massive confidence boost for Brown that.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 ROVERS: Brown, Salgado, Jones, Nelsen ©, Olsson; Emerton, Reid, Nzonzi, Hoilett; Kalinic, McCarthy. Subs: Fielding (GK), Jacobsen, Andrews, Doran, van Heerden, Gunning, Chimbonda. Thought Jones was a RB? Unless its Salgado alongside Nelsen? oh dear if so...
den Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Brown, Salgado, Jones, Nelsen ©, Olsson; Emerton, Reid, Nzonzi, Hoilett; Kalinic, McCarthy. Subs: Fielding (GK), Jacobsen, Andrews, Doran, van Heerden, Gunning, Chimbonda.
DeadlyDirk Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 1-0 win to us tbf, Brown Pen 87th min. Long ball forward results in a hand ball in their area! It just reminders me of that joke.... England are about to play Scotland in a WC qualifier, Rooney is so confident of winning he decides to take on Scotland by himself while the rest of the lads go home and put their feet up. Sure enough as the players back at the hotel check teletext they see England go 1-0 up thanks to Rooney, unfortunately Scotland then got an equalisier in the 89th minute to make it 1-1. Later on the players meet up with Rooney and congratulate him on getting a draw all by himself, he isn't so pleased though and the players wonder why after he battled Scotland to a 1-1 draw all on his own for 90 minutes. "I got sent off after half an hour" he says.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Brown, Salgado, Jones, Nelsen ©, Olsson; Emerton, Reid, Nzonzi, Hoilett; Kalinic, McCarthy. Subs: Fielding (GK), Jacobsen, Andrews, Doran, van Heerden, Gunning, Chimbonda. Only 1 recognised CB in that lineup... Jones is a RB iirc..
DeadlyDirk Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Only 1 recognised CB in that lineup... Jones is a RB iirc.. Jones is a natural CB who has been converted to RB in the reserves.
hollowsr Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Can play in either but has played CB for reserves so far this season
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Jones is a natural CB who has been converted to RB in the reserves. Ok then i stand corrected. Overall i'm happy with the midfield and attack, that defence aint that strong though.
rebelmswar Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Ok then i stand corrected. Overall i'm happy with the midfield and attack, that defence aint that strong though. I agree. I am praying that Salgado just had a horror against Everton.
John Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Overall i'm happy with the midfield and attack, that defence aint that strong though. Think with Givet being injured we are being extra cautious and wrapping Samba up in cotton wool.
mellison24 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I like that line-up, but figure that Salgado's lack of pace means he'll be better suited to CB than RB? Just thought I'd throw that in there.....
G Somerset Rover Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Love it! I'd of played Robbo though With Sam promising that if a player plays well he keeps the shirt for the Villa game, it's gonna be tough on old Browney if he has a cracker. I see no point in playing him whatsoever. Other than that I'm fairly happy - good to see Kalinic and especially Hoilett. If Salgado gets raped down the right again at least we'll know he'll never make it here. Roberts and Gamst aren't even on the bench though...kepping our 'star men' fit for Saturday I wonder.
Backroom Tom Posted September 22, 2009 Backroom Posted September 22, 2009 I would have like to see Elrio start but I'm happy with that line up, time to step up to the plate boys. Looking at the bench I'd expect Kalinic and Hoilett to get the full 90.
rovers1995 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Glad about that Line up. Make the players realise just how bad they were at the weekend.
Commondore Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hoping for: ---Brown-- -Salgado--Nelsen--Givet--Olsson- --Emerton--N'Zonzi--Reid--Hoilett-- --Kalinic--McCarthy-- I'm happy! I don't know anything about this Jones tough, haven't given any serious attention to our reserves our youngsters since the days of Ciaran Donnelly...
G Somerset Rover Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Glad about that Line up. Make the players realise just how bad they were at the weekend. I don't think they or we will find that out untill the Villa game. As I said above - I'm more worried that Gamst and Roberts are being completely left out so that they are raring to go (or not as per usual) this Saturday.
Presty On Tour Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I think if we get an early goal, there could be a hat full on the cards. Kalinic will score tonight!

As I said above - I'm more worried that Gamst and Roberts are being completely left out so that they are raring to go (or not as per usual) this Saturday. Same here. Just hope Benni, Kalinic and Hoilett have decent enough games so that they have to feature in place of Roberts and Pedersen against Villa.
CrazyIvan Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Inexperienced line-up. I'm not honestly expecting too much but good on Sam for giving some young players the opportunity. A draw or a 1 - 0 win would be good. Anything better I'll be over the moon.
philipl Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Extremely nervous about that back line. Better keep posession or Forest will get through the rearguard very easily.
Presty On Tour Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Just seen the Forest side and it looks as though they are playing 4 or 5 strikers?
pksrover Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Think Garner has played in midfield for Forest last few games. Correct me if I'm wrong?
