Hasta Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 I'm sure that wrong, I cannot believe that it was Mike Newell. "Speedie was promptly withdrawn" Now my memory may be fading but I have it that the player whose goal was disallowed was Simon Garner. Is there a chance that he came on to replace Speedie? Get up into that loft Plastic Head there's beer on this! I'm fairly sure it was Speedie but am definitely sure it wasn't Garner. Whilst we are on the subject, watching the second leg from the Baseball ground live at Ewood was something I'll not forget. No fancy TV's then. A crappy screen erected at the corner of the Bburn End and Riverside and everyone stood on the pitch watching. The last 15 minutes were probably as nerve-wracking as I've ever been watching a game and I probably include Anfield in that statement. At the Baseball Ground that night we had no West Ham to fall back on.

mark1875 Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 The play off semi final 1st leg v Derby County at Ewood in 1991....... Who was the player who had a goal disallowed wrongly for offside that would have put us 5-2 up? Also who crossed the ball for that 'goal'? wasnt it 1992 :s
tomphil Posted September 21, 2009 Posted September 21, 2009 wasnt it 1992 :s It was newell who scored and it was disallowed, cant remember who passed it but think it was super atko.
