imy9 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Biggest news for the Sam haters out there- Andrews has been dropped to the bench! I like the look of the line up. Robinson Jacobsen Nelson Samba Chimbonda Nzonzi Grella Diouf Dunn MGP Di Santo IF Nzonzi and Grella have good games and can provide MGP and Diouf, I can see Di Santo finishing off the chances. I predict 3-1 Rovers
Bobby G Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Its going to be a difficult match. Theyre a great away side, and we need to pick up our game cause it hasnt been there a couple of weeks now. Lets hope the two youngsters go out there with something to prove. Plus we got a decent enough bench. MGP, get your finger out or you are next.
Backroom DE. Posted September 26, 2009 Backroom Posted September 26, 2009 There's no way a 4-4-2 would have worked against Villa, that would have played into their system perfectly. Decent selection from Sam, though it is a shame Junior's not included in the first 11. Happy that Roberts is out of the squad, injured or not, and that Andrews is on the bench. We've got the personnel on our bench to switch to a different system if the 4-5-1 fails to achieve what we want. A little more confident we may sneak something now.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 A few of us in liveChat, join in if you like!
Stoic Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 We play 4-5-1 to accommodate Dunn. We'd get murdered with him in the middle pair in 4-4-2. Rubbish. There's nothing wrong with playing a creative player in the middle of a 4-4-2, particularly if you have a specialist defensive mid to play alongside him, and we have two to choose from.
Mr. E Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 completely wrong midfield and attack. edit: and 1-0 Villa already. Oh well, let's not panic folks, the "expert" has it under control!
Backroom DE. Posted September 26, 2009 Backroom Posted September 26, 2009 Embarrassing, we need to get an equaliser ASAP, the longer the match goes on the more likely it'll be 0-2 rather than 1-1.
sweet Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Allardyce should get out of the stands and onto the bloody touchline.
Silencio Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Disappointed not to see Hoillet or McArthy in the side. No Jones on the bench either. What did Sam say about players who performed in midweek would stay in the side?
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 What a joke of a side we are, deserve everything that happens to us. "If You Pay Peanuts, You Get Monkeys!"
Amo Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 McCarthy and Kalinic obviously never made an impression, then. I guess Sam is trying to get the most out of Di Santo while we still have him. It'll be a tough game, but with home advantage we'll have a chance. EDIT: Aaaah ballz, 1-0 down.
grinder Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Anyone know how many times we have conceeded early under Allardyce ? It happened last season as well - something not right with the pre match prep ?
Silencio Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Anyone know how many times we have conceeded early under Allardyce ? It happened last season as well - something not right with the pre match prep ? No, he just keeps picking the wrong side...
KoNG Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I joked with the missus, as I flicked over a bit late for kick off.... 'knowing ROVERS we'll be down 1 already....' Grrrrrrr.... Right..!
imy9 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 No, he just keeps picking the wrong side... Well who would you have picked Einstein? By my reckoning the defence left a big gaping hole in the middle for Aggy to score from, the midfield and attack could do nothing.
novella Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Anyone know how many times we have conceeded early under Allardyce ? It happened last season as well - something not right with the pre match prep ? Just sh*t players in my opinion. the team looks considerably weaker this season and we have started with a fairly negative formation.
philipl Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 So Nzonzi misses the header in central midfield, ball finds Agbonlahor going between Samba and Nelsen like a knife through butter, scuffs the shot completely and it bobbled in off the post. At the other end, MGP completely free, scuffs his shot, finds row Z.
yellowsubmarine Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 What a soft goal to give away. =/
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 What a soft goal to give away. =/ This is Blackburn Rovers we are talking about here, you shouldn't be surprised...
G Somerset Rover Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I joked with the missus, as I flicked over a bit late for kick off.... 'knowing ROVERS we'll be down 1 already....' Grrrrrrr.... Right..! I've done exactly the same twice this season now; Citeh and now today. Seriously, have our side ever heard of keeping it tight in the opening minutes? Friggin joke and we wont come back with our defensive line up.
