SamDingle Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Pathetic... There seems to be a sense of fear amongst so many fellow Rovers. Alan has seen through you all.

deryck guyler's spoon Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Pathetic. I worry about what we do, not Burnley or any other club. There seems to be a sense of fear amongst so many fellow Rovers. I guess our performances this year are the reason for that. Bring em on I say. Top 4 are already decided next year, and the next...and the next. But a good old fashioned derby between 2 old clubs in Lancs? Now thats football. thats what I`m talking about. I've re-read the old post you responded to Alan to see if anything in it warranted "pathetic". What I found was not a rant but explanation of my opinion which clearly you dont concur with. Fair enough. As for The Derbies, yes they do concern me. But then I'm not cosily ensconced in The Thames Valley.
philipl Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 We might not win the derbies but I cannot see us losing either of them- the gap remains.

nicko Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 If there are any bookies watching I suggest they launch a Blackburn Rovers v Burnley match bet for next season - to see who gets most points. Judging by the frenzy around there would be some money going on.
Dan Furness Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 A view of Blackburn away from the other side ''Me and a mate made our own way there for the cup game and there were more Clarets on the streets than barstewards.'' I swear to god that at both league and cup matches at Ewood I NEVER saw one Burnley shirt around the vacinity of Ewood! This might have something to do with the police lockin Rovers fans in pub centre pubs - until in one particular pub the fire alarm was set off
4ever&ever Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Yeah everyone in the town centre pubs was told that the only place open would be the jubilee, so everyone went there and got locked in. We were then all escorted in 10's to the sun and locked in there also, they had police horses blocking the entrance and we were all pinned inside like sardines. We were eventually allowed to leave but only in convoys surrounded by vans and police, with a helicopter above us and marched all the way to Ewood, we weren't even allowed out to go to the toilet etc. I'd only gone for a drink and I was herded like cattle, have to admit that it was very exciting though. Just expect the same if you go drinking in town before the game.
tony gale's mic Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 It doesn't. We're both on 0 points in the Premier League. If you want a gap now, you'll have to make one. By that logic there's no gap between United and either of us either.
Kelbo Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Correct me if I am wrong, but do we get extra points through beating Burnley??? No we dont, personally, the important thing next season is to maintain a reasonable position in the premiership, anything else is a bonus!! Burnley dont concern me at all, not interested in them, I am interested in the season though and to beat them would just be another 3 points

Or is it just us old folks. We don't want to lose any of these. Sadly I think Coyley is well smart enough to get the job done. Hope he gets poached.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Again you have to ask the question how do other Police forces cope with derby games when opposing fans sit in the same stands yet our local constabulary appear to shyte themselves?
BuckyRover Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Again you have to ask the question how do other Police forces cope with derby games when opposing fans sit in the same stands yet our local constabulary appear to shyte themselves? I was going to say the same thing. How are they kept seperate at Old Trafford (vs City) and the Emirates (vs Spurs)? Unless we have "super thugs"
leftfooter Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I was going to say the same thing. How are they kept seperate at Old Trafford (vs City) and the Emirates (vs Spurs)? Unless we have "super thugs" Lancs Constab' has always been OTT in regard to segregation and capacity, just think back to the Promethean journey to the Turf during the Championship season. The club must take its share of the blame though; as the empty seats in the corresponding derby at Ewood due to over stringent ticketing requirements showed.
No Nay Never Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 I was going to say the same thing. How are they kept seperate at Old Trafford (vs City) and the Emirates (vs Spurs)? Unless we have "super thugs" I was thinking the same, I would say the Old firm game at celtic park is the biggest example of this. Then there is the Manchester derby both games, Liverpool Man Utd both games etc etc
Steve Moss Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Burnley dont concern me at all, not interested in them, I am interested in the season though and to beat them would just be another 3 points Don't we play them twice? So that's 6 points in the bag. A fair start with an 108 more to go.
1864roverite Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Again you have to ask the question how do other Police forces cope with derby games when opposing fans sit in the same stands yet our local constabulary appear to shyte themselves? probably due to the numbers of each Police Force. mankchester have 3 times as many bobbies slumdon has 10 times the amount and more the problems with policing burnley v Rovers games is a big problem because nobend and blackpool are also in the equation. Burnely home games are going to be a sell out each week, 22000 per game. Rovers are averaging 23000 PLUS per home game. Pne are going to have to be at home when one of the above 2 are also at home and with the teams that are in the championship there is a potential for 4500 away fans per game. The same applies with the donkeylashers but on a smaller scale, also add Accrington Stanley intot he equation and again it is all resource intensive. logistic wise its going to be a problem because at the weekend 50% of the lancs force are weekend off whilst a further 25% will be on nights with the remainder of the 25% either on duty or policing football games. Another major issue is the fact that the force is governed by working time regulations that means officers do not need or have to work OVERTIME and witht he current climate of low morale, over burdened practices there are many who simply wont volunteer for overtime. What I will say is this, neither Rovers v Burnley game will be later than a 1pm kick off nor do I suspect will either be an evening kick off. its causing major planning issues believe me and as of yet nothing has been resolved
Ossydave Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 They made the national newspapers again today in the Sun, summat about them having t-shirts in the window of the club shop saying 'Burnely' which they had to withdraw. Apologies if someones already mentioned it.

Apologies if someones already mentioned it. can't find the sun link but it's in the LET http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...hirts_recalled/ plus more embarrassment for them. But, despite the developments, Turf Moor has long been one of the least inviting grounds in the country for away teams http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport...ley_goalkeeper/
Clitherover Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Anyone else see the many bandwagon fans queueing for season tickets outside t'turd on Sky Sports News?
mhead Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 After one day the Dingles ticket shambles has reached even greater heights...with forms thrown in the air by worn out Steward(singular) to the hungry 3rd-world hordes of band-wagonners. www.claretsmad.co.uk is alive with exasperation.
Ozz Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I woke up at two AM this morning with this screaming through my brain-Ronaldo is the second coming of Dave Thomas! (Turns out it was George kicking off in his cot).
Hughesy Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Ha taken from Dingle mad - "Did anybody else panic buy???? ... I needed 3 season tickets for this coming season BUT i bought 5 season tickets instead Reason being i have 2 small small children who are too young IMO at the moment to go on the match so their seats will remain empty for this season and maybe the next???? Why would you do that? Some people may ask.... Reason being i PANICKED!!!! I thought, well if we're in the Premier League now and we some how manage to stay there for whoever knows hows many years......Then i might not be able to season tickets for my children in 2-3 years time "
