imy9 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Shouldn't that be ''My fellow Clarets and I'' or at least ''Me and my fellow Clarets'' Touche, my literate friend

Kelbo Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Guess that would be the 59/60 Division 1 Champiomnship (when it WAS division 1) Won at the last game away to Man. City, but as it's a league not really won againnst any one team. That's why we have the retro style shirts and badge for next season, the 50TH anniversarry. Since then we have won Div 2, Div 3 and Div 4 also the Charity Shield and the anglo Scotish cup. F.A. Youth Cup as well Whats the 4th Division? we have never been there

I would be embarrased personally.
AggyBlue Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Why would you wear a kit celebrating something that happened 50 years ago? I would be embarrased personally. Yeah, we'd never do that. Not even to celebrate our centenary.
The Prof. Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Nothing but admiration for Jack Walker and what he did for his club. Of course it hurt but time is showing that he not only invested heavily but was also astute enough to build an infrastructure that could ultimately be self sustaining. Hats off to you!
1864roverite Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Once and for all Burnley are not our RIVALS, they are the enemy
yorkyclaret Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Why would you wear a kit celebrating something that happened 50 years ago? I would be embarrased personally. Well you've only 36 years to wait.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Well you've only 34 years to wait. If only it could be that soon
yorkyclaret Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 If only it could be that soon Quick work Deryck, thought I'd changed it in time.
OhmiBRFC Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Well you've only 36 years to wait. I like to think we've more class than that.
SamDingle Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 http://tinyurl.com/kv4bw4 One for you guys to pour your bile and bitterness on. Bearing in mind you probably agree with everything we're doing.

Bearing in mind you probably agree with everything we're doing. Not adding any bile, but Sam, where's the logic in the article when it mentions this scenario: "And if the worst does happen and the club are relegated, then a prudent approach to life among the big boys will ensure a much more stable base from which the club can attempt to bounce back the following season." So are we likely to endure a "groundhog" season, year after year after year.........?

Bradford, Norwich, Leicester, Leeds, Newcastle, Southampton and 'established Premiership club Charlton' can tell you about the alternatives. Groundhog Day is a great film isn't it.
ABBEY Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Good film ? aye when it was 20 years ago.....mind you its just got the premier in bumley .
dave birch Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Bradford, Norwich, Leicester, Leeds, Newcastle, Southampton and 'established Premiership club Charlton' can tell you about the alternatives. So this is your logic, eh Sam? A series of failed Premier league clubs.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Err, I think that was the point he was making. Best hope for the Dingles is to yo-yo, make some dosh and then establish themselves. A takeover would help.
dave birch Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Err, I think that was the point he was making. Best hope for the Dingles is to yo-yo, make some dosh and then establish themselves. A takeover would help. err, how many are in the prem? That was the point I was making
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Err, once again, that's what he said. He'd rather yo-yo than "do" a Newcastle/Charlton etc etc.
dave birch Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 Err, once again, that's what he said. He'd rather yo-yo than "do" a Newcastle/Charlton etc etc. so, how many of the above mentioned teams have managed a "yo yo" and stayed up (Barcodes excepted)? Jeez, adb< I'm the one that's been on the lash for a while, it's only lunchtime in your neck of the woods
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Ah, I get you now. I blame the lack of sleep.
SD4E Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Quality! I remember being gutted when you beat a select Old Etonians XI to win your sixteenth consecutive FA Cup in 1704. Jesus, talk about clutching at straws! Well done though, it takes a blinkered individual to be able to completely ignore all the facts- thats quality! rovers outshine the clarets on all fronts, trophies, no of season in top flight, more derby wins etc, and are proud to be England's most successful town team. as someone else just said, take it over the last 50/60 years if you wish. oh no, Rovers still win. you will be forever in our shadow my claret friend, so probably best if you put a wooly coat on, it can get cold under there.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I think without doubt the crux of the matter is that our lesser neighbours do find in rather hard to except that FACT that Rovers have always and will always be the bigger, better supported, more successful and more prestigious of the two clubs. We are indeed the most successful town club in the country and its said with great pride . Those envious green eyes have always shone brighly down from the Clarrott and cobbled end of the M65........
unluckymorton Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Now you know how lucky you are to be considered fit to be our rivals. Rivals? To be rivals you must be able to pose a threat towards us. I don't see that being the case, maybe some years ago when there was true rivalry, numerous season in the same division playing at the same level, but not any more. You obviously enjoy living in the shadow of the superior club from the other end of the M65 and dream of one day emulating our run of seasons in the top flight. Otherwise you morons wouldn't spend so much time on another club's supporters website!!! I wouldn't dream of registering on dingle.com and shooting the sh!t with halfwits from the dingledome....
SamDingle Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 maybe some years ago when there was true rivalry, numerous season in the same division playing at the same level, but not any more. Man Utd are our main rivals... As for living in a shadow.. move with the times kids. We're level pegging now with it all to play for. I wouldn't dream of registering on dingle.com and shooting the sh!t with halfwits from the dingledome.... The dingle.com board is far too cerebral and sophisticated an arena for all but a few on here. Stick to creating amusing combinations with the words 'inbred' and 'yokel' for a while yet before stepping up a level.

Stick to creating amusing combinations with the words 'inbred' and 'yokel' for a while yet before stepping up a level. That's like saying we're level pegging with the likes of Man Utd & Chelsea. That's certainly not the case. I hear the dingle.com board is actually a board on a window of a town centre pub that you and your cousins chalk on from time to time. You really are evolving in your dark, grim corner of Yorkshire.
