Darth Paul Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 This promotion is becoming easier to handle by the day. They've alienated a number of fans by not selling more than 2 tickets per person for the play off final which resulted in families being split up around Wembley. They've sold season tickets to people who've never even been to games before at the expense of the seasoned season ticket holders and now this debacle! Every cloud. To be fair to Burnley football club it would have been very difficult not to alienate the fans by splitting up families, but selling tickets in blocks of 50 was not an option. Dont worry, I am sure they all got to sit next to someone they were related to, even if it wasnt their first choice!!! That is the advantage of a shallow gene pool!
SamDingle Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 most burnley fans on this site are all internet trolls, best ignored 'I just looked into his wondrous eyes and said "never never never again" And all too soon I did return, just like a moth to a flame'
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 A truly classic thread on Samuel's board of 'cerebral wonder' This is what we're up against folks!
thenodrog Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 A truly classic thread on Samuel's board of 'cerebral wonder' This is what we're up against folks! That ty fella certainly backed the wrong horse when he chose to give his allegience to Burnley. He must have regretted it time and again. Given his upbringing he must be a very odd type. Possibly disturbed even.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Never ceases to amaze the amount of bile and bitterness spouted on there...there's still a lot of anger and frustration over that way make no mistake. Its all rather akin to the little scruffy man jealous of his bigger and smarter near neighbour.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 A truly classic thread on Samuel's board of 'cerebral wonder' This is what we're up against folks! Not actually too bad some of the comments. Never read a Dingle mb before. I was under the impression that Rovers interlopers were instantly banned. What's the betting that "ty" is Sam Dingle?
1864roverite Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 you can understand some of their reasoning but at least its a little refreshing to note that the majority agree with the comments from Rovers fans. Also not so unsurprising is that many cannot seem to read more than 1 sentence !
Moorey Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 "Never ceases to amaze the amount of bile and bitterness spouted on there...". Aye, you'll find none of that on here.
sambo Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 That Micah hyde goal gave them an inkling their dominance won't last forever and I they are really sweating now
SamDingle Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Never ceases to amaze the amount of bile and bitterness spouted on there... I take it you mean that in an ironic, tongue in cheek, self mocking way. In which case, quality post.
broadsword Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Funnily enough I watched it again last Sunday. It's an absolute classic. Here's a still from the filum where SamDingle (Joe Pesci) is wittering on yet again about the rise of the claret empire. The mafia, normally a tolerant lot I think you'll find, have had enough, and who can blame them? Sam gets "wacked" with a water pistol. Whenever I think of joe Pesci, I remember the ending to casino. Not good. I can't believe people are taking sam Dingle seriously. I mean, he's taking the pi55 out of Burnley himself and you're taking him seriously! I'm tempted to think he's not even a Bumley, and he's just someone who gets his rocks off having a damn good wind-up.
bob fleming Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Sam, Sham. burnley, schmernley. Blah de blah de blah. We'll stuff 'em again next year. Coyle's about to find out that you can't polish a turd. Ruddy hot isn't it? If anyone out there hasn't seen Goodfellas then you really should.

Here here, and if you didn't see The Boss play Glastonbury last night you really should...........oh no off topic......sorry **** off burnley
Clitherover Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 "Never ceases to amaze the amount of bile and bitterness spouted on there...". Aye, you'll find none of that on here. Well, you know where the door is...
JC4LAB Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 We are of course more noted for our footballing than Rovers, perhaps largely down to our teams in the 60's. One of Shankly's favourite teams, described by David Coleman as the 'Pride Of Lancashire' and by Kenneth Wolstenholme as the miracle club I think we are rightly described as a great old club steeped in football tradition. Dont forget good old Frank Bough for that era too ..he probably liked watching Burnley amongst his other enjoyments
BRFCGrez Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 They've signed Mears this morning for £500,000 apparently. Wasn't he being touted at Portsmouth's replacement for Glen Johnson. Might not be a bad piece of business by them. I can't say it would have got me excited though.

Don't really know much about mears, but if he is decent its a shame we werent in for him at that price, considering we needed a right back.

longsiders1882 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 On what do you base the theory that the Dane is better? Not sure on this deal but you have to cut your cloth. Not so worried about his ability but more whether he disrupts the dressing room. We are also in for a young Scottish striker that a few clubs (allegedly including yourselves) had an interest in. Also if rumours in the NE are to be believed we have signed a young defender/centre half from Newcastle and we are also chasing Andrew Driver, Mathew Mills and James McCarthy - all young players in the Scottish leagues.
den Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Well Longsiders, we have a saying around here - sign Scottish footballers, get Scottish football.
longsiders1882 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 That is the worry - though Driver is actually English. And actually, so is Mills and he plays for Donnie not in the Scottish league.
nicko Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 It might be more relevant to point out that Fletcher, Edgar and McCarthy all play international football too. And have a re-sale value. Driver won't be coming as we speak, neither will Mills. But the time to gloat is when the players are in and performing.
SD4E Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Well Longsiders, we have a saying around here - sign Scottish footballers, get Scottish football. if you listened to any dingles over the last year you would think they play better total football thann the cruyf led Dutch sides of the 70's. How will these young scotts fit in to such a system?
