There's an article in today's Observer Sport Monthly about Burnley. Alsistair Campbell promoting his new film, Burnley are back to be screened on BBC2 in August. He says they're the biggest supported team per population. We all know this is rubbish so why do we keep hearing it?

It's called propaganda.

Give it up Manc. Like it or not, it is now enshrined in urban myth. It'll appear as FACT on TV quiz shows in years to come.

Don't let it worry you. You can't actually see the Great Wall of China from space either.

It's not a surprise really from a man who made a career out of lying. The irony is that someone who is regarded in the media as a great spin doctor is regarded by everyone else as a complete tw@t!

I very much doubt it. Nobody any longer believes a word that pillock utters.

They were a disgrace to be honest, Claret Tony on DingleMad is denying it was Burnley fans but even their own fans admit they heard fellow "supporters" singing and fighting. One of them had to call an ambulance for a Bradford fan who had his head kicked in by a group of them.

I can see "Suicide Squad" fancying their chances against United lot next season. They will get their heads kicked in by the Mancs.

Doesn't sound great.

No defence for this at all and especially not at an event like this. I assume we will be seeing some arrests and bans shortly.

Agree, whatever tournament, league fixture or whatever.

What is it about 'so called' Burnley fans who resort to this, I cant condone behavior like this from anyone, in or out of football

are these people mentally retarded?

I am all in favour of good natured banter, rivalry on the field of play, but this is totally stupid and gives Burnley Football Club a bad name.

The culprits should be banned for life from watching or playing football, sent home to their mummies and daddies and sat in a naughty boys corner!! Yes, act like children and be treated like children!!

Taken from clarets mad....

"I did see a bit of trouble straight after the Burnley v Blackburn game as well. I went for a beer and a dozen or so fans of either team were looking for a fight or two. I overheard one Rovers fan telling his mates that the Burnley fans needed sorting out cos we all looked "smug as f***"!". Then there was a bit of chanting and as I walked back to my seat I noticed virtually all of these lads up against the wall fighting with a couple of stewards trying to pull them apart."
