Far better situation than I can remember for many a moon, we can hardly complain can we?

Seems a lot of you "rovers fans" have forgotton what it's like to be in the lower divisions, you have a short memory.

And here I was thinking Calderstones had closed down, do you really think if you get relegated Coyley will stay??

Moon, Green Cheese come to mind!!

Not only tht if you get relegated, where will you play, your idiots will have trashed the ground!!

Lower divisions, yes I remember it well, like the 1, 680 of you Burnley fans who turned up in an old fourth division match!!

were you one of them??

We'll see how things pan out won't we? It's hard to be negative about the Clarets at the moment, I'm sure you can appreciate that?

I wasn't at that game you mention by the way.

You can point at laugh, but the fact of the matter is we have made a gaint step in closing the gap between our two clubs, and if we manage it well we could overtake you sooner than you'd like to admit.

The operative word is COULD!!

Coyle did ever so well to get you up there, but he would be a genious to take 11 non proven premiership players and do well in the top division, its been tried but failed, sometime someone may succeed, but if his reliance upon Graham Alexander in midfield and a very mediocre back four and keeper succeed, I will be very much surprised!!

In all fairness we did 2 years 10 yrs ago. Did the double over you one season I'm sure you recall. Before that the last time was 91. That's quite a spell. Then we go back to the 80's and let's be honest you still weren't good enough to play us much were you? We did you then as well. Of course there's the 70's when admittedly you were in the top flight but that's a long, long time ago - 74 was it?

We've never been in the bottom flight and never had to win the last game of the season to prevent us going out the league.

BUT - in all fairness there are many on here who remember us in the lower divisions and will talk in greater detail than I will (especially the 70's when I wasn't living in Blackburn). I was there when Garner scored at the Turf. I was there when your lot threw our roof at your own fans. I was there on the Longside in the Lancs Cup - like it was a big deal back then.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a short memory. I just wish you hadn't been promoted. I think that's fair dos on a BRFCS website.

It might be financially good for bfc. It brings it's own problems. i.e. losing football matches a lot of the time.Actually most of the time. Look at our October (apart from our game against your lot (obviously!)) we could quite easily lose every game. What a good do. £48 (ish) at The Bridge anyone to watch us get beat? Maybe this year Ranulf, maybe next, maybe even the year after that. Eventually though the novelty wears off and you realise that someone is having a laugh. Especially when it's on Sky.

Yes, you're closer to us, but over taking us? I don't think so.

I remember being a Championship side in 1999/2000 2000/2001, there some of the biggest lows I have had supporting Rovers. I can't help my age though! I'm only 22 so I started getting into football in the midst of Jack Walker's revolution.

Omg the 0-0 draw with Port Vale, on the opening day of the season in our 1st season in the 1st division!

Wow you actually engaged me in conversation rather than sniping!

So you're old hat, thats fair enough, many people on this site seem to be post 1995 fans and people like you can be hard to spot.

I think the novelty will last, Burnley fans are probably lee fickle then you give credit for, either way the vast sums of TV cash coming our way, plus payments if we were to go down can do nothing but help us.

Crewe was a worse game, over 20 shots and target and we got beat 1-0

My dad - who is a Dingle, shame on the family I know - said a couple of years back that he wouldn't mind your lot being promoted and getting relegated because the T.V money would sort the club out financially for years. As much as I do dislike B*rnley F.C I would never want them to go bankrupt and fold.

The vast majority of what you come out with does need sniping at Ranulf. You shouldn't and won't get away with it. I was just showing you what could be done if you behave yourself. (I arguably should insert one of those smillie yellow things here at this point but let's not go too far)

Rovers fans are also a lot less fickle than your lot would like to believe. I am not sure where the back up for saying many people on here are post 1995 fans comes from? I am sure that there are a fair number but there are a hell of a lot of pre 1995 fans on here too, and lets face it, I would imagine that there are a reasonable amount of posters on this site who are in their early twenties or younger, which would make being a pre 1995 fan a little demanding.

I think sometimes the Clarets fans like to engage in this little fantasy that none of us existed before Jack but lets face it, it really is just clutching at straws, trying to assert the upper hand in this way...why don't you talk about your larger gates or superior trophy count...oh, sorry I get it now. :P

It pains me to say it but if I am being honest, for their size, catchment area and resources, Burnley have always been a fairly decent outfit, since the birth of the game as we know it.

But if you were to be honest you would admit that excluding the odd blip Rovers have always been that little bit better...

First match I went to the 'soon to be'England captain was in the Rovers team and so was his brother.Cannot remember anythingelse thru the senile dementia but Mike Jackman book isolated it to about 1955. Clearly I am another post-1995 bandwagon jumper.Players names of course Clayton.

The only thing he is right about is that my best ever match was 1995....VE night of course.

And 'Dingle'...you talk to enough Rovers supporters and most will answer 1989 - Palace away - for the worst/most depressing.

Now back to my carer who is waiting.

Amen brother, the worst day I can ever remember supporting Blackburn Rovers :(

Must say also that the FA Cup defeat by Brentford at home also came close for some reason? Think it was 5th round at home, in the days when making the 6th round would have brought 20k to Ewood instead of the usual 7 - 8k.

How times have changed, I'm moaning about not spending 9 million on a striker

Something between £10m and £20m of the dingles's first Prem payment will go in sorting out various desperate financings done by Flood and co in the past.

The loan the administrator of one of the Modus companies is chasing is for £3.7m. We've not exactly gone crazy in the transfer market so I'd be happy for the club to look to pay every last penny off to the directors who kept us afloat and put us where we are.

£20m is a better headline though and should get Gav all giddy.

Seriously though, looking at it now, that win at Wembley was probably just as important to us as the win against Orient in '87.

More important- you wouldn't have gone bust in the Conference. Probably would have done had you been starting this season in the Championship.

At least you could go and watch league football at Accy Stanley now.

And getting beaten by Workington at home in the FA Cup, Kit Napier got a hat trick for them!

Times do change, my first game at Ewood was 1955!!
