GOD NO! The world has ended. Get a grip people. Two points very well made sporadically in this thread of doom.

1. That United side was about as bad as it could be and they are probably in the worst shape for years. They are not the force of past seasons - at the moment anyway. (£80m in the bank does buy you some cause for hope I suppose). Ex. Newcastle backbone with Owen and Carrick, Championship Goalie, late thirties midfield in Scholes and Giggs - have to be found out soon and a want away Centre Half in Vidic.

2. It's Bunleigh guys, not Barca! Who would you take and put in the current Rovers side???

Also - I was hoping they would both loose - but that's as unlikely as a man winning the womens 800 metres World Medal isn't it?

What are Chelsea's odds this season for the title?

I'll be magnanimous and say well done to Burnley for striking a blow for football against the forces of evil within the game. Whilst it is crap its Burnley who did it, it is good for football in general.

Let the Hill Trolls bask in their moment of glory, as it is only the second game, and they have a small squad of over achieving 1st division players. We may not win against Man Utd this season, but we are more likely to stay up.

Biggest league game for 33 years - 20,872 attendance - Pathetic!!

You really are a bitter bugger Hughesy.

Aside from the hundred-ish seats behind the disabled shelter which we no longer use, the ground was packed. The capacity is not 22,500 and hasn't been for years.

Are you suggesting that we should have had more fans in than the stadium could hold?

It'll be the same attendance when you lot visit in March. Assuming you're at the game Hughesy, you can assess for yourself whether there are any empty seats.

I enjoy the banter on here, but at times it's replaced with genuine bile.

Exactly, some people on this thread need to get a backone

Wasn't it around this time last season that Hull beat Arsenal having just drawn with us? Didn't Man U also start last season off like relegation candidates? Hmm let me see, Hull went on to glory and Man U achieved nothing.

Hull went on to be not relegated. Which from their point of view was 10 times harder than the mancs winning the league. In other news - this dingle side looks to have a bit more about them than Hull did last year.

Obviously doesn't bother you that much or you wouldn't keep coming back.

Oh my. Don't say I didn't warn you.

This thread is everything I'd expect it to be, awash with bitterness and denial. Excellent stuff, particularly loving Hughsey's desperate contribution!

Anyhow, enjoy life in our shadow, chumps.

The idiot has spoken.

Fair play to you, a fantastic victory against the current champions.

If you can continue with that level of commitment and passion (see Hull as reference) then you have a decent chance of staying up- our aspirations as Im sure you'll agree are a lot higher :P

One result and you're full of it. You must be easily pleased, as you can lose every game bar two more and you'll be gobbing off about being the better team.

It's a bit like banging on about beating Usain Bolt in a race whilst ignoring the fact he had two broken legs at the time.

Dingles have one use- I am looking forwards to collecting my winnings from the most predictable upset of the season.

Its the way to deal with the one season wonders Philipl, I took them at 9/1 also!

It was bound to happen. United - big heads that they are, thought they just had to turn up and that would be enough. Serve them right. That mistake will not be made again.

Now - when was it we did the double against them? ;)

Congratulations to Burnley. It's great that a side has shown that its possible to beat a big club by playing some football.

Down with bigoted tribalism.

It's a beautiful thought, and one I wholeheartedly agree with. Personally I categorically can't see the point of disliking something / someone due to their location, especially when that location is so clearly near and similar to one's own. I thought differently when I was a kid, but I'm no longer a kid. Unfortunately I think we're swimming against the tide though. Stupid is as stupid does when it comes to deep rooted rivalry I'm afraid; my dad did it so I'll do it is the mantra of the believer - no more thinking beyond that logic is required nor allowed. Anyone who questions it isn't a real fan apparently.

Anyway congratulations to Burnley from me too - chuffed for em. I couldn't give a #### if they won every game to be honest - I'd rather it was a local team rather than someone else, and like you say it's always nice someone beating the "big" clubs.

Just as long as they lose against Rovers of course (but that goes for every team)!

Oh il be there - dont you worry about that. Like I was the last few times we have played you...

My point was that with Burnley being such a MASSIVE club, with such a MASSIVE support, why have they got such a sh!tty little stadium that only just holds 20k!

Desperate? How's about celebrating off 1 result? Its not our fault you hadnt beaten the mancs since the 1960's, its 1 game, get over it!

As for the fat lump of keeper - he wasnt the star, United were terrible - Berbatov & Giggs both missed easy chances by their standards.

Do you think it might have something to do with them not being in the top division for the last 30 odd years perchance.

Also if you've been there the last few times we've played them, then why did it take till last night to be surprised how few it held?

Bizarre but true; the only one's I personally hear saying Burnley are a massive club are actually Rovers fans (albeit tongue in cheek).

If I had the wings of an eagle, the black hairy arse of a crow, I'd fly over Burnley tomorrow and sh*t on the b*stards below...below...sh*t on, sh*t on, sh*t on the b*stards below.

SamDingle can't be older than 15 surely.

There's been more posts on here saying Burnley did well than the other way round yet he comes on acting as if we are all ctying over it.

Then posts a league table in which Rovers have only played one game

A season doesn't lie and if after 38 games Burnley are above Rovers there are no and can be no excuses.
