Al Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Blackburn=105k BwD=141k , Burnley=72k Burnley & Padiham 84k. 2001 census. For Christ's sake children, who gives a toss where the supporters come from or what percentage of the population turns up. So long as there are enough to create an atmosphere I don't care.

Roost Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I am more concerned that there is a focus on the 'asian' population in this discussion. I assume that by 'asian' people dont mean Chinese, Japanese, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Sri Lankans etc etc etc etc? Most probably not. Mods, open up a separate BNP page for the dimwits will you?
OhmiBRFC Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 The Dingles hark on 'bout attendances too. Apparently we don't support our town Where were the Dingles last season?

Mods, open up a separate BNP page for the dimwits will you? Nothing remotely BNP about stating the fact that the majority of the Asian population of Blackburn, though lovers of football, have little interest in Rovers. I'd love that to change, but at the moment thats a fact. Lets not stifle debate with cries of bigotry.

sambo Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 How do you know? Come on, there is a low percentage of Asians at Ewood compared to the town - cricket is traditionally their first sport. There does seem to be more this year, which is encouraging.

I'd agree to an extent, however when you walk around the town, lots of Asians are wearing footy shirts, unfortunately they are Big 4 shirts. Ive talked to a few Asian lads in the gym, they are football mad, but look at you blankly when you mention Rovers.
booth Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 A while ago some of you lot said Burnley would have 0 points after 5 games. Myself and the legend that is Andy Payton offered to by every Rovers fan a pint who came up to us in the Blues Bar if this happened. Haha, he was probably high... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world...86908-21491129/ And legend? Are you one of his customers? He may be a Burnley legend but nowhere else Alas, as the Clarets climb the league... You really are deluded and skirt around any point that could shatter the delusion As always, enjoy your lucky spell. Luck luck luckity luck luck. What happens when it all runs out and you stop scraping those wins?

Iceman Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Why? See now you being silly and asking silly questions. But to answer your question, i hate Burnley because its taken you lot this long to come up. Ive become bored of having to face Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool every season. Dont you just hate that Yorky?

longsiders1882 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Funny things is a mate of mine was asked almost that exact same question by another Burnley fan (after the Man U game where some were suggesting it was the main result they'd wanted this season) 'Why Do You Hate Blackburn?' My mate didn't know how to answer - I told him the answer was if you need it explaining to you you will never understand. My guess is its the same for most of you, use whatever events or other things to explain it but the truth is you don't know why, you just do.

Some of you lads speak lots of common sense, its bloody Rudolf and Sam who are the idiots!! I am more concerned that there is a focus on the 'asian' population in this discussion. Mods, open up a separate BNP page for the dimwits will you? Funny thing this Asian name, I played cricket for 25 years, I have played both with and against, Indians, Sri Lankans, Pakistanis, West Indians, South Africans, Australians, New Zealanders, Zimbawians etc, guess what, never Asians!!
SamDingle Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Some of you lads speak lots of common sense, its bloody Rudolf and Sam who are the idiots!! To be fair Kelbo, I only deal in petty banter and childish bickering. The personal vitriol and bile almost entirely comes from elsewhere on this thread. Being thick-skinned, and on a Wovers board (!), I don't mind this at all. My only 'beef' is with the mind-numbing, repetitive nature of your catalogue of insults, rather than the insults themselves. Before anyone says.. 'Well, if you don't like it..." – I do like it generally. And you love me being here. I know you do. We dingles lend a little 'Top 7' glamour to your struggling club.

Come on Sam, wake yourself from your slumber, I will never love a Dingle, not even you, despite you charm Now, how many Season Tickets did you want for the Darwen End??
Iceman Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Yeah, that's great and now we can add South Africa to your catchment area Ive been a Rovers fan for 23 years, and im 27 years old. Ive never been able to afford to get to Ewood, but you could say im Rovers number 1 fan in South Africa. I know the history between Rovers and Burnley. I also know its a massive contest on and off the field, as ive watched us predictably on many occasions send you lot home with your tail between your legs.
booth Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Some of you lads speak lots of common sense, its bloody Rudolf and Sam who are the idiots!! I echo that, my Burnley supporting colleague who is also a good mate talks a lot of sense. I can actually have a conversation with him about football. For example I can talk about how Burnley did in their last game and he'll be realistic and if I criticize them, if I'm right he'll agree. Likewise with Rovers. We still rip the p*** out of each other on occasion but that's part of the local rivalry/banter
Hasta Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Two wins against two of the 'glamour' clubs and yet still their top flight goals aren't achieved. Still the 30 years of hurt aren't erased.
cletus Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I`ve got my order in for the Bumley game...... simply a must.......
