I think they are all good measures by both clubs and hopefully will greatly reduce any trouble. I remember being forced to go by coach to t'urd for the cup game a few years ago and i was quite glad in the end.

Anyway i don't care. I just booked my flights for the game. Im gonna park in the school and im sure theres gonna be a few idiot inbred dingles on the walk down who have no intention of seeing the game and therefore didn't go by coach...but i think there will be enough police around to stop any trouble.

My main concern now is i have a very bad feeling about the game football wise. They are gonna be well up for it. Lets just hope sam explains to our foreign players exactly what this game is all about.

We were'nt forced to go on coaches for the cup game. My tickets came through the post with the coach tickets, i had 4 in total.

I didnt use the coach, i went on the train, no one prevented me from doing that.

The police know people will make their own way. They can't provide protection for the people that decide to travel in their cars.

The people who went on the train we escorted by a big police opperation around Burnley town centre from Burnley Barracks station.

Oh ok, i remember getting a letter from the police telling me to go by coach but you are right that we didn't have to be on the coach to get our tickets...it's a good idea though in my opinion

We heard all this crap in 2001 from both clubs and the police. It didn't happen then either. I'll be driving, parking in Lower Darwen and taking a pleasant Sunday morning stroll down to Deadwood. It vexes me that I have to buy a ticket for the charabanc but there it is.

And stop saying 'simples'. It stopped being funny two weeks ago.

Wow! I find myself in complete agreement with a Burnley fan (just kidding Sam ;)).

Creatures of habit Sam, dont be too hard on them; they have to feel that they are part of the flock, or they get very uncomfortable and nervous.

Is anyone else just completely looking forward to 18 October more than any game in years. I am so excited already I can hardly sleep. No-one up here really appreciates the importance if this game. I see it as a chance for our players to become heroes, as they did in 2000 at the Dingledome.

Come on you Blues!

Snap! I'm the same Clarky. That is the one game that I intend to be there for even if I need an ambulance to get me there.

I don't think some 'distant' fans quite get the rivalry, I however do. I'll be there even if I have to walk!!!!

I know of a few members on here who still see Man United as their most hated team.... Brian i'm talking to you lol. For me it's always been Burnley, I cant wait for the game. The atmosphere is going to be something special.

Lets hope the new guys realise just what this game means to the fans.

The Clarrott angst has began!!

''Im in the blackburn end for this game , should be fun''

Interesting the variation in numbers the clarrots bandy about. "Failed to seel our 4100" "Struggled to sell 3500" I thought we sold our available tickets but thats me. Surely Burnleh had the obligatory 10K locked out at Ewood too.

And what route are you planning to take? The M65 will be closed, the back roads will be heavily policed or failing that you could set off really early in the morning to beat the road blocks and sit in your car in lower Darwen all morning. That will be far more fun than going on the coach with all your mates.

They could always take the train via Darwen station. ;)

What is wrong with travelling by coach? This defiance of authority is the same mindset as the other hooligan element in Burnley. It's all about preventing clashes between the more militant thugs who hate each other for some inexplicible reason and inevitably the involvement of innocent parties who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Is this for some reason not acceptable to you?

Interesting question - if Super Keith Andrews scores the winner will that make him a legend

As far as I'm concerned Man United is the biggest fixture of the season by far. The only date I'm thinking about in October at the moment is the 31st.

Considering this club beat Man United to a premier league title it's hardly a "novelty" fixture. There's a hell of a lot of importance there. Remember how they unsettled Shearer all summer? How Jack refused to sell him to them? Things that shouldn't ever be forgotten.

The Man United home game isn't until April so how can people judge demand for games at this stage?

I've e-mailed the club (Williams is away until next Friday so don't expect him to respond straight away if you e-mail him) over this ticketing issue asking why Man United should get a full allocation. There's no reason why the home areas couldn't sell out for that game so they should also be restricted to 3000.

Its obvious to a blind man and his dog that Burnley football club realised that after sending 1500 tickets back to Chelsea they would struggle to sell more than 3000 for Ewood especially knowing the claret clampits were going to have to stump up the bus fare aswell. :)

Will be extremely suprised if they sell their allocation.

They talk a good game those claret knuckleheads.
