Backroom Tom Posted September 26, 2009 Backroom Posted September 26, 2009 Rovers in perfect draw shocker Really couldn't have asked for better Also Aresenal V Liverpool ensures on of the big guns wont be in the quarters
Balwer Posted September 26, 2009 Author Posted September 26, 2009 And Arsenal against Liverpool, brilliant!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Very happy with that. Avoided all the big boys and 5 Prem teams will be out next round including either Arsenal or Liverpool.
RibbleValleyRover Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Happy with that. Liverpool v Arsenal is great, one of the favourites will be going out.
roversmum Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Not happy. Wanted to go to Scunthorpe... moan, whinge, whine
Balwer Posted September 26, 2009 Author Posted September 26, 2009 Not happy. Wanted to go to Scunthorpe... moan, whinge, whine Nearly had me for a second there mum!
Bobby G Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Unfortunately I think the favorites for the cup may be Man City, and they have a very easy home tie too. Would have liked them against one of the PL teams away... Come on Rovers!
rover6 Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I think you guys should be more worried. Peterborough are a better team than Forest. And we were, largely, out-played by Billy Davies' men. They have two very good forwards who will worry our defenders and Fergie II seems a real manager in the making. Another Forest performance and we will be comfortably ousted.
roversmum Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Now then, Rover6. We aren't daft you know. I'll take Peterborough in lieu of Arse, Pool, Man City or Chelsea away all of which would likely be a hiding to nothing.

Blackburn v Peterborough Manchester City v Scunthorpe Tottenham v Everton Barnsley v Manchester United Chelsea v Bolton Sunderland v Aston Villa Arsenal v Liverpool Portsmouth v Stoke Cant ask for any better, can we?
philipl Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Let me re-phrase, at least five Prem teams out. 20 years ago this would have looked like a real banana skin tie, let's not turn it into an actual banana skin because Coventry apart, we have been relatively secure against lower league opponents for quite a while. Overall a dream draw- Barnsley upsetting a pretty strong dingles means RFW cannot risk too many kids at Oakwell. Sunderland v Villa and Spurs v Everton games are going to knock two teams with serious aspirations on this Cup out of the competition. Don't know if rover6 has looked at the Coca Cola league table recently in his assessment of the relative merits of Posh and Forest.
Presty On Tour Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 1 of the best draws we could have had as we are at home and against a lower league side. Let's not mess this chance up!
Iceman Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 All i can say is brilliant draw for us. We could easily, have drawn another pl team. C'mon Everton, and im hoping Liverpool beat Arsenal. Arsenal kids are dangerous imo. Wembley, could be a real possibility for us.
Steve Moss Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Seriously..... Blackburn v Peterborough Manchester City v Scunthorpe Tottenham v Everton Barnsley v Manchester United Chelsea v Bolton Sunderland v Aston Villa Arsenal v Liverpool Portsmouth v Stoke Cant ask for any better, can we? Yes, we can. Blackburn to win outright and the remainder all draw, forcing a re-play. Excepting ourselves, I want the ultimate winners good and tired.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Yes, we can. Blackburn to win outright and the remainder all draw, forcing a re-play. Excepting ourselves, I want the ultimate winners good and tired. Don't have replays in this competition.
Steve Moss Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 ^ Thereby betraying my ignorance. Apologies. Then definitely overtime. Unless they resolve ties in another manner?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Just extra time and penalties.
Presty On Tour Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Just extra time and penalties. But if the score is still tied after 11 penalties each, the captains have a face off in a grueling game of connect 4 in the centre circle to decide the winners.
Gav Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Blackburn Rovers v Peterborough United The complete and utter **** Adrian Durham supports Peterborough , he spends most of his broadcasting time hammering clubs like us, Bolton and Wigan because we can’t fill our stadium, and believes we should be swapped with Leeds and Sheff Weds because they can attract bigger gates than us. I for one hope we hammer them and send this ***** home with his tail between his legs, southern ****.
Beta Ray Bill Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 But if the score is still tied after 11 penalties each, the captains have a face off in a grueling game of connect 4 in the centre circle to decide the winners. When did they change the rules? It used to be ker-plunk.
The Rover of Finland Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 When is this match against Peterboro? Official sites don´t mention a word about it. Hope the next one comes from Pompey-Stoke pair.
OhmiBRFC Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 It's the draw I wanted, at the wrong ground.
