Iceman Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 some credit to onions as well. Typical England collapse hey, but well done. i thought SA might have thrown Harris on to bowl spin at Onions.

grizfoot Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I just love how England always seem to celebrate getting a draw.
Flopsy Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 as Swann said, England are single handedly keeping Test cricket interesting
Al Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 There is no point in keeping Bell as an extra batsman if he collapses under pressure. Might as well play a bowling all rounder.
Iceman Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Where is Shah? Is he not better than Bell?
Bazzanotsogreat Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Advanatge England after day 1. 250(ish)-5 is a par score for the team batting first on day 1. However SA bat a way down so 350 is still not out of the question. England will be looking to get them all out for 250. Dale Steyn has yet to bowl yet though
Iceman Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 England have done well so far. Strauss was on a real mission, and its a pity he got bowled by a good ball.
Flopsy Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 This is so finely poised at the moment, South Africa remembered how to bowl on a pitch which is near perfect for a test match, pace, bounce and allows a bit of seam, brilliant. Batsmen can get runs, but as the scores show, they have to stay on their toes at all times. The referrals are working quite well as well
Hughesy Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 170 lead at Lunch. Get to 600 and declare......
Iceman Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 SA in heaps of trouble. 76 for 6. England on the verge of a win.
Hughesy Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 156 runs behind still too - would be great to beat you by a full innings +.
Guest Kamy100 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Hope that the weather is ok tomorrow. Great spells by Broad and Swann this afternoon, bowling of the highest quality and the South Africans again show that once they are put under pressure they crumble. Well done to Cook, Collingwood and Bell for setting up the big total. Hope that this squad stays injury free and together for the next 12 months because they have the ability to give the Aussies a real battle during the Ashes next year.
Flopsy Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Is anyone at the ground? RAFRovers saw someone in a rovers shirt. What a fantastic leave by Kallis, I hope the chef's puree all the south african team's food so they dont choke. [sniggers] for those who missed it

Iceman Posted December 30, 2009 Author Posted December 30, 2009 England win. England win! Get in England lol
Hughesy Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 96 + an innings - first time in 45 years we have beaten them by an innings - very good performance.
1864roverite Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I am on nights al week so I sky +'d this mornings play. Just got up and have watched the England team notch a win, taking a 1-0 lead with 2 Test Matches to go. Have to say what a fantastic effort across the whole team. I am not a Collingwod fan but he played very well. Bell got a big innings which for me cemented England as clear favourites. Glad to see the dingle lad chip in with a final wicket and the bowling of Swan puts England in a very strong position of NOT LOSING the series.

1864roverite Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I agree Iceman but after todays efforts by a resurgent England team, they can out themselves in a position where they cannot lose this test match, especially if they can take SA out early tomorrow. If England can at least take a half decent lead in the first innings, then, on a breaking pitch, England are the favourites with Swanny's spin. Whatever happens, it is a very much improved England team than we have seen in recent overseas series.
ABBEY Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 bad language like that usually results in abs getting another warning
Flopsy Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 it can be arranged Nice to see the saffers collapsed again (on both sides )
1864roverite Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 The Proteas are in a healthy position and are doing to England what we did in the last game. Over 200 in the lead with 9 wickets left. Smith has notched his ton and Amla will surely follow suit. With 2 days to go I wonder what score SA will be wanting to ensure a draw at least or to allow them enough time to bowl England out.
