RibbleValleyRover Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 SS1 making a big deal about the physical factor, hence the cheesy "lets get physical" 80's song with a video showing some of our players.

LeChuck Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 An extremely dull, unadventurious selection. We have to do something different against the better teams. Is The Emirates a place to be adventurous? Are Aston Villa not 'one of the better teams'? I'm not sure a lot of people even know what they're complaining about anymore, just doing it for the sake of it.
Beta Ray Bill Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Is The Emirates a place to be adventurous? Are Aston Villa not 'one of the better teams'? I'm not sure a lot of people even know what they're complaining about anymore, just doing it for the sake of it. I think it's disgusting that we aren't playing a foward line of Di Santo, Kalinic, Roberts and McCarthy. Supported by Dunn, Diouf, Hoilett. Emerton and Nzonzi protecting the back one of Givet. Wenger wouldn't have seen that coming.
Exiled_Rover Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 What's wrong with Samba then? We're going to get stuffed of course.
1864roverite Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Clearly, our injury problems have forced Sams hands to play an unusual back 4. Today, Rovers are reliant on Andrews to nullify the threat of fabregas, Givet to knuckle van Persie and Emerton to do Rosicky ! Whatever today brings, it might be entertaining
Silencio Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Shame to see Andrews in. Would have put Emo in the centre and Hoillet on the right. Not too worried about Chimbonda in the centre. Nelsen is crap anyway. We have to hope Olsson has a decent game.
Backroom Tom Posted October 4, 2009 Backroom Posted October 4, 2009 Would have prefferd Emo in the centre with Peds out left and Diouf right with Andrews on the bench, Brett at RW just doesn't offer too much. This could get ugly, RVP to score first must be the easiest bet of all time. I can't see us seeing out 10 mins at 0-0
Miker Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Seeing that line up... I'm not sure if it's extremely depressing or strangely positive. I would not have predicted that lineup in a million years, but maybe they can surprise us? Salgado could only come on for Jacobsen, and Sam clearly prefers Jacobsen for that right back spot right now. Hahaha I love how the commentator talks about Arsenal's bench of "internationals", and misses the fact that ours is full of internationals as well!
Stuart Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 SS1 making a big deal about the physical factor, hence the cheesy "lets get physical" 80's song with a video showing some of our players. I noted that too. Great eulogy to Sir Arsene and then, "the visitors today are Blackburn". I'd love it if we did get physical for the first time in about 2 years. Just shows how much notice Sky pays to us - or that they are happy to perpetuate the myth in order to keep that gap alive. It'll be the Sky Sports European Super League before we know it!
Backroom Tom Posted October 4, 2009 Backroom Posted October 4, 2009 Wow what a howitzer by Andrews, suprised that shot didn't break the defenders leg
Backroom Tom Posted October 4, 2009 Backroom Posted October 4, 2009 NZONZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Told you we wouldnt see out ten mins at 0-0
novella Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 GET IN!!!! although i think its come too early! Hope e can shut them out.
Backroom Tom Posted October 4, 2009 Backroom Posted October 4, 2009 Urgh at the commentators, 'typical Blackburn goal, he didn't mean it' you know what? I couldn't care less
Exiled_Rover Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Shocking defending by L'Arse's new 'superstar', but screw it. Get in.
oozy Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Shocking defending by L'Arse's new 'superstar', but screw it. Get in. I know we just scored but why did Van Persie not get a yeloow card for that foul on Dunn. You could be sure that a yellow card would have been produced had it been the other way round.
Backroom Tom Posted October 4, 2009 Backroom Posted October 4, 2009 Di Santo booked yet there was an identical foul for our goal with no booking, big club bias lives on
Miker Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Di Santo booked yet there was an identical foul for our goal with no booking, big club bias lives on I was about to say that too, absolutely ridiculous.
Exiled_Rover Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 1-1, it's been coming. We've backed off and backed off since the goal.
Rovermatt Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Andrews gives it away, Arsenal score. They're on their way now.
Backroom Tom Posted October 4, 2009 Backroom Posted October 4, 2009 Van Persie should be booked by now surely
