[Archived] Blackburn 3-2 Dingles

Recommended Posts

This article on the SquareFootball site has an imaginary XI of Blackburn/Burnley players on offer. He goes for...

Jensen (Burnley)

Mears (Burnley)

Samba (Rovers)

Nelson (Rovers)

Jordan (Burnley)

Alexander (Burnley)

Elliott (Burnley)

Dunn (Rovers)

Andrews (Rovers)

Fletcher (Burnley)

Nugent (Burnley)

Hmm...seven Burnleyites to just four Roverites...and one of those is Keith Andrews!

Not only that...but no place for Givet?!? Our best player?!?

Square Football - Rovers/Burnley Starting XI

Apparently the author is from Aberdeen so is no Dingle...but like another journalist might be a big admirer of a certain (very good, I must admit) Scottish manager...

So Jensen is better than Robinson ? Mears better than Jacobsen or Emerton ?? Jordan better than Givet ? Alexander better than Diouf ? and Nugent and Fletcher both better than Di Santo Roberts McCarthy etc ??? Absolute nonsense of the highest order

The Burnley one is a funny jibe and no harm done. The 'retaliation' is just silly and unimaginative.

When the Jack Walker Statue gets damaged and covered in paint a load of people laughing at the grafiti above will be moaning like mad.

Since when was it okay to deface a statue that is a memorial of a passed man? Rovers shirts are fine, as that was the allegiance of Jack. But surely anything else is just wrong? The suggestion of paint above.....when that happens, I'll be ###### fuming and the people that do this (if they do) should be prosecuted for vandalism. It's similar to soldiers' statues as war memorial's! BRing of poppies is fine, but any other kind of defacing is just plain wrong and immoral!

Looking on that site, there was more paint around the ground.

It's all been cleaned off now so no damage done, I'm sure they did the Jack stunt the last time we played them so would have expected something better this time.

Had they damaged the statue then I would have been fuming, however I have to say fair play to them for going to all that length to repeat the same old stunt again.

Now that the paint has been cleared up I have to say that the cone dressed up in a Rovers shirt is pretty funny, they haven't got any statue there I presume so maybe the cone meant a lot to the dingles.

Maybe we should name it John Bond lol

I didn't like what Sky Sports News did today. Previewed the game on Sunday with a Tim Sherwood interview (that bit is ok) ... but during the interview they cut to pictures of the recent trouble at the West Ham v Millwall game. Absolutely no need.

There will definitely be alcohol on sale inside Ewood Park, but as previously said, it might not be before 12pm even though the turnstiles should be open at 11.

The club could help themselves (and their matchday revenue) here, by actually making it clear on their own website exactly what will be available and when.

There is no re-entry to the ground, so I'm not swiping through the turnstile at 11am unless I know for definite there will be beer on sale at that time. So unless they confirm that, I will look elsewhere for pre-match build up.

It won't take rocket science to work out which local pubs might be operating earlier (or how to get into them).

The club website states the concourse bars are open at 11am around the ground other than the Darwen End bars opening at 10:30am.

**GOBSHITE ALERT**

You still not got a life dingle boy? How on earth do you manage to spend so much time on a Rovers supporters messageboard? Are you still planning your pathetic attempt to drive to the ground on Sunday?

This Dingle stunt is an embarassment to the people running the club.

If the fans werent already fired up, this will just have tipped the balance well done Dingles, glad i´m not a policeman or steward on Sunday.
