Is the fernhurst gonna be open that early???

If it is I'm there man!!!

As far as i know it has only been confirmed that it is closed to away fans. I know the hotel part is open bcause i could have stayed there this weekend, so maybe it will be open to home fans for a change. Anyways my plan was to do what most away fans usually do at the fernhurst, grab a bag of tin heads from the garage 200 yeards up the road and pitch up on the benches on the carpark of the fernhurst. I figured most pubs wont be open till 11ish anyways, so if i get pitched up on the benches with my cans, the dingles can get a warm welcome from the first coach arriving until some of the boozers open. Reckon they will start arriving from about 10.15 onwards!Should be a barrol!

Never forget going to the turd when we played them in the FA cup and old men and women of about 90 where waiting outside there houses, to flick us a quick Vs as we made our way into Burnley!!

I've been completely oblivious to any game since the Arsenal one, although I did go to the stanley game.

Couldn't give a monkeys about the England games or any other matches. For me, this is one of the biggest games in my life due to what's at stake in terms of history and pride. Any one who says it's just 3 points is right but it's also 30 years of domination that is at stake here.

Is it just me or is anyone else completely oblivious to any other matches this weekend?

Yes, I know Sky have been advertising the games this weekend and making a big deal about one on Saturday but I can't, for the life of me, remember what it is. I know they haven't mentioned ours much yet (or that was the last time I actually saw Sky Sports...). I must remember to pack my bags before the game and then remember to drive to the airport afterwards! My mind and life is revolving around one game at the moment :D

The Fernhurst is closed to anyone. I would also be amazed if the police let Rovers fans congregate there drinking on Sunday morning.

I couldn't tell you any other fixture that is happening this weekend.

Rovers to win 2-0, Peds & Dunn with the goals.

I'd go for: 4-2-3-1 with:

Robbo

Jacobsen Samba Nelsen Givet

Emerton N'Zonzi

Diouf Dunn Pedersen

Di Santo

subs: Brown, Chimbonda, Grella (if fit) Holliett, Benni, Roberts/Kalinic, Reid

Even the dingles are not stupid enough to ignore Dunn, and given he's a local lad too there'll be a lot of focus from them on stopping him. For me Diouf and Peds have to step up and really take on a more leading role in the attack, taking some of the pressure off Dunn. This is the game I feel that they'll get the space and time to get a good few shots off on goal. Having players with the derby experience will also be important as genuinely it is an atmosphere like no other, and unless you've seen or played in one it's hard to appreciate how much this means. So despute not being the strongest performers this season Peds & Nelsen are in.

Come on rovers.

Taken from that dingle page about Jack -

Dear old Jacks a claret, he wore a claret shirt!

But now he's up in heaven, he wears an angels skirt!

He misses his shirt so much, god conjured up a plan!

And sent some lads from Burnley to prove he's still a fan!

They all went to his statue, and dressed it up with care!

And made sure nowt got damaged, that wouldnt have been fair!

Some people thought it funny, some people thought it sad!

But one thing is for certain, It got those @#/?s Mad!!

What other matches?

OK prediction time and I am going to be boringly repetitive.

27,000 ish inside Ewood, two sets of 18 players selected, two elevens on the pitch at the same time until the red cards start coming out but this game is in reality all about the two managers.

We know Coyle is a genius- no way should that bobbins club and their limited players be in the Premier League let alone be sitting on 12 points.

But they are in the Prem so Sam the Expert is going to have to deal with it and face the unpleasant consequences if he doesn't (and if he does screw up, his post-match remarks could cost him the complete loss of the Rovers support for ever).

Man for man Rovers are not only better than the dingles but we have far more options so whilst the dingle personnel are pretty predictable especially having two long term injuries, Sam can spring surprises on Coyle.

Critically, Rovers entire defensive unit is much better than the dingles' and before anyone says Emirates, we had two injuries and look at the dingles on their travels. So if there is sustained pressure at one end or the other we should have the class and resources to pull through.

There are going to be nerves and I suspect Robo might be more susceptible than the beast but otherwise we have by far the better keeper.

I think we have the two most important players on the pitch.

Samba has the greatest physical presence on either side and most importantly we have all seen how incredibly involved he gets in fighting for the blue and white cause. I expect he will be immense for us on Sunday- not just at the back but bringing an element they will not cope with when the big man is up for set pieces.

Talking of involvement, the most passionate man on either side will also be head and shoulders the best footballer out there- David Dunn. I just hope he combines all that energy with enough cool that he doesn't either injure himself or get sent off because if David Dunn is still on the pitch at the final whistle (or 85 minutes) we most surely will have won.

Quite what will trot out in centre midfield is a mystery. I know everybody is expecting to fall about laughing at the hapless dingles when Keith Andrews scores against them but I think it is far more likely Keef will write his name firmly into the Rovers villainy with THAT mis-placed pass or missed tackle or screwed-up goal attempt or an overall performance of total ineptitude.

Sam to be far too scared to get this wrong and Rovers to win 3-1. Nerves and occasion might get to everyone on the field and it could be scrappy but I suspect the yelling and screaming from the crowd will inspire both sides to a real blood and thunder occasion.

Fair play - sounds like some respect towards Jack. It would have been very easy to vandalise the statue - but at least they didn't stoop that low.

As it also says on the front page "Under no cicumstances should the Jack Walker statue be permanently damaged, light hearted banter is what this should be about. And its is strongly recommended that this is how it stays."

Light hearted banter. Thats all it was, and theres no need to overreact. The plane stunt will never be beaten.

I remember that too (2000). The amount of people stood on their doorsteps watching us roll by after we beat them was amazing. I was genuinely surprised at that. It must have been quite a sight though... :) Oh and two fingers up had two meanings that day if you know what I mean...

Can't wait, train leaving Euston tomorrow afternoon for my first trip to Ewood, couldn't have a better game for my first either. Will be meeting preston blue at 12.30 Sunday, whose generosity in getting me a ticket is incredible.

Up the Rovers!
