LeftWinger Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Dingle hangs himself at 23 after derby defeat....... My link Why would he do that? They were by far the better side according to their own fans!
deryck guyler's spoon Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Dingle hangs himself at 23 after derby defeat....... My link I'd have been devastated if Burnley had have beaten us but would have stopped way short of killing myself! There must be more to it than that. The link dosn't work but as it's the Daily Star I'd reckon it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
LeftWinger Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I'd have been devastated if Burnley had have beaten us but would have stopped way short of killing myself! I don't know - did you see their first half performance. For the record - I have no sympathy.
Ricky Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Guys let's have a bit of sympathy. I know it's a link from the star but I'm pretty sure it's true if it's the lad I'm thinking of. I'm also pretty sure he's got some good friends who are rovers fans who also frequent this board so let's show a bit of respect.
broadsword Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 That's just unbelievable if true, and just mind-blowing. Football's not worth killing yourself over.
Ste B Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Guys let's have a bit of sympathy. I know it's a link from the star but I'm pretty sure it's true if it's the lad I'm thinking of. I'm also pretty sure he's got some good friends who are rovers fans who also frequent this board so let's show a bit of respect. Indeed.
Hughesy Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I was just reporting the link...not the fact it had ewt to do with us. Shame for the lad! It is true... it was on dingle mad. A lad called Adam who helps run Accy Dingles...Shame for the lads family.
OhmiBRFC Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Dingle hangs himself at 23 after derby defeat....... My link What a dick.
4ever&ever Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Yeah I read it in the LT yesterday but didn't want to bring it up because it seemed beyond belief. My sympathies are with his family and friends, kind of puts things into perspective.
Hughesy Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 kind of puts things into perspective. What that we won 3-2, it should of been more....and they were not the best team?!
OhmiBRFC Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I can't believe he's put his friends and family through the ordeal they will now be suffering because his team got beat 3-2. No sympathy at all for him. Goes without saying I feel for his realations and mates, not him though- he's just an idiot.
S15 Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I can't believe he's put his friends and family through the ordeal they will now be suffering because his team got beat 3-2. No sympathy at all for him. Goes without saying I feel for his realations and mates, not him though- he's just an idiot. Do me a favor. The scummy Daily Star are distastefully spinning the fact that the lad was a Burnley fan and happened to hang himself shortly after we played them. To jump out and assume he killed himself solely over the score line in a football match is ridiculous. Do you think he woke up the happiest guy alive but just couldn't live on after we beat them not by the heaviest score we've beaten them in his lifetime? There is obviously far more serious issues related to this story, but to hell that set of scum bags are going to ruin a good story.
Dan Furness Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I can't believe he's put his friends and family through the ordeal they will now be suffering because his team got beat 3-2. No sympathy at all for him. Goes without saying I feel for his realations and mates, not him though- he's just an idiot. You, nor I, will never know the reasons he did it so keep your opinions to yourself on this one. He is a friend of a lot of people I know who are gutted, people who were with him on the Sunday.
waggy Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 knew about this monday, and how anybody can post it on here beggars belief, you call me for having a do at lardarse, hold your head in shame hughsey
LeftWinger Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 hold your head in shame hughsey What is wrong with posting the link? Hughesy hasn't said anything bad about him!
RibbleValleyRover Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Probably best to stay well clear of the issue. Unless there was something left (a note for example) saying why he took his own life and it is made public then you will never know why he did it. Got to feel for his family, the ones that are left to deal with this at this difficult time.
RovertheHill Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I've just had the opportunity to watch the whole game again. If anyone else gets the chance, they will see that all the claims from the Burnley manager/fans/pundits about them being the team that played all the football, while rovers simply pumped it up into the air are completely untrue. Rovers played the better football all afternoon. Even the second half where they claim to have outplayed us is just a fabrication. Watch it again Burnley fans and you will see that the inteligent play in the second half came from the blue and whites. Your guys put together pretty much diddly squat. Fletcher's shot that he scuffed wide early in the second half was as near as they got until they scored the second goal a minute and a half into added time. Even then Dunn or Ped should have got the fourth. There wasn't a decent performance from any of the Burnley players as far as I could see. On a footballing comparison rovers were head and shoulders above their counterparts. Alan Smith on his summing up just before the final whistle said that Burnley were dismal in the first half and although they weren't as bad in the second, they were clearly second best throughout. Andy Gray said that rovers got the balance right - they played it long from the set plays, but he was impressed by the football when we were in posession. As for the comments about us dropping back too much and playing a dangerous game, I think that comes from the anxiety of the game at the time. Watch it again and you will see that we actually caused Burnley far more problems in the second half, than they caused us. Spot on. This myth that is building that Burnley are the East Lancs Brazil is just that - a myth. The Dingles should look nervously at any bigger teams that aren't doing as well as expected - Coyle will be off like a shot if a better opportunity comes along.

thenodrog Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 coyle had a offer to go to celtic in the summer I know he's a fan but other than that why go there? Burnley have much more income and can provide a better platform for his managerial career..... at the moment.
thenodrog Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I don't know - did you see their first half performance. For the record - I have no sympathy. What a dick. Those two quotes reveal much more about your mental states than we know about that of the lad who died.
