bobsterbrfc Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I would love to see Rovers return to just having the red rose of Lancashire, possibly with Arte Et Labore below. The image of the badge I refer to is used on the Red Retro shirts and the club's '75 centenary shirt. Anyone else any thoughts on this...?

Hughesy Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Leave it as it is....and dont change it... Simples...
Backroom Tom Posted October 18, 2009 Backroom Posted October 18, 2009 I'm biased but I genuinely think ours is the best in the league, the colours and everything just works
Ben-2000 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Leave it as it is or revert back to the old one if necessary, but nothing new.
philipl Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Keep it as it is. It is easily one of the most distinctive and classy crests around. It is about 40 years old yet timeless.
dannydisco Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I wonder if this simplified rose was intended to be symbolic of roses yet to blossom. The only minor tweak I'd support to our current logo is to incorporate our title win. Maybe by way of a silver star.
dannydisco Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I don't think any other crest/badge would look ok on the shirt. Such as this one; The only slight tweaks could be to change the font. Something Aresnel did recently to freshen it up a little. (not that i'm saying ours needs that). I've seen other subtle things such as slight shadows and rounded edges that give a little bit more 3D, chunky depth, such as when sky animate our logo on tv. Could also look good in chrome on the away kit.

Ricky Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Don't change it, don't really fancy going through tattoo removal!!

Could also look good in chrome on the away kit. This looks bland. Why bother to change something that works? The stylised red rose on the after suggestion takes away from the badge's unique style. I like the current format which looks suitably old fashioned for a club with our proud history without being actually old fashioned. It also allows the academy badge to be the rosebud which does indeed symbolise talent yet to bloom. Leave well alone - it's a change that definitely doesn't need to be made.

The current crest is TOP QUALITY and is a great advert for Rovers and their brand.

dannydisco Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Which title win though? FA Cup: Winners: 1884, 1885, 1886, 1890, 1891, 1928 Division One: Champions: 1911-12, 1913-14 FA Premiership: Champions: 1994-95 I think it would be good to include these honours, other teams around the world do it by having stars placed slighttly above their crest, so the actual crest remains the same. So we could do a limited edition/commemorative 100 years since first title honours shirt in 2011.
