[Archived] Pre-Match Song Over Pa.

Recommended Posts

I've said it before and I'll say it again -

The Beatles - A Day In The Life

start playing from the orchestral buildup (about 3.00) to just after the '4000 holes in Blackburn Lancashire...' or all the way to the end.

Plenty of good reasons for this tune:

1. It's The Beatles

2. Written in '67, the year after we were relegated, and now we're back...

3. Harks back to the post-Industrial rundown town the Southern w@nkers think we still live in

4. Replace 'holes' with 'goals'

5. Says the 'holes were rather small' - Just a SMALL town in Lancashire

6. And they filled the 'Albert Hall' - well we could fill the footballing equivalent of the Albert Hall with our history

7. And finally...we'd love to be turned on, every game please

8. Add your own idea here...

If you've got the tune try it and see what you think, I believe it would be awesome, haven't had anything as good since 'The Final Countdown'

Seven - Blackburn (Rovers in his heart) seems obvious to me. Belting, Rovers-style!

It's alright for the goal compilations but does nothing to say to the crowd and the players this is it - we're starting now. to those saying we don't need anything - it's not true. If we made enough noise to drown out a tune played over the pa it would be great, but as it is we need a really strong noisy and clear tune to make the players think "We're off. Need to concentrate" Might cut out giving away those early goals, bit like the Pavlov dog thing. Get them salivating at the prospect of defending if we condition them with the right tune. Like most I associate the final countdown with playing well, but it wouldn't have to be that - just something stirring and ours.

No thanks! :!: Yes its good they have done a song based on Rovers, yes it deserves some air time at ewood, but not before games - it just doesnt motivate at all.

Either:

Hysteria - Muse

Thunderstruck - Ac/Dc

Born Slippy - Underworld

Seven Nation Army - White Stripes

Definitely, played it at Nottingham Forest, what a tune.

I'd love

but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea so don't expect that just love listening to this in my car travelling to Ewood "everything will be perfect........every bodies singing yes this is happiness happening"

A good shout would be Wheatus - A Little Respect

"I'm so in love with you I'll be forever blue" :rover:

As a side issue, every home game we are drowned out in the Blackburn End before and after the game, and during half time, by a ridiculously loud PA system. It is that loud that, when sat in your seat at half time, it is annoying and makes trying to give a half time report to my Dad on the mobile almost impossible. Any celebratory singing after the game is always drowned out.

Went in the JW Upper last night and the PA system seemed about half the volume. Still easily audible but doesn't drown you out with half time draws and irritating advertisements from our (much valued) sponsors.

Does anyone else think that the PA system in the Blackburn End is too loud and, if so, could this actually be mentioned at the fans forum?

I fully agree here. I take extra issue with the PA as it interferes with my hearing aids. My hearing is NIL when the half-time draws are done and stuff. I've written to the club about it (after our 1st home game), but no reply and clearly no effect.

Anyway, I'm going to apologise in advance for my next song suggestion, but it got us going in the chelski semi-final at OT did it not?

I would walk 500miles etc etc

To be the one who walks 1000miles to see the rovers score!!!

It's barely audible in the upper tier of the Blackburn end. we have to go down onto the concourse if you actually want to hear anything. I actually wrote to complain about that a year or two ago but it's just as bad still.

Basically, me and my mates (my mates tonight, at the Peterborough game) are sick of there being no decent pre-match song to get the crowd bouncing!!! You are invited to pick ur best 'get going' song, suggest it and hope someone with contacts at the club takes notice!!!

I'm going to go for:

'Sex on Fire' - Kings of Leon.

'Monster' - The Automatic.

Rock n Roll by Gary Glitter

Well that is wierd. Fairly near the back of the lower tier it is deafening.

Yeah, I'll back you up there. It was deafening on Row 28 at the dingle game.

It's loud in the upper tier (used to sit there) but it's near impossible to make out what's actually being said. Just a loud muffle!
