RibbleValleyRover Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I'd like to see us change to a 4-4-2 but it doesn't mean it will definitely work. Do we have the players on the wings to provide quality chances for 2 strikers up front? I'm not sure we do, never replaced Bents and Peds is ###### ######.

est990 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 4 strikers on the bench, surely there is a 442 coming soon?
Bobby G Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Worst performance of the season for me. Forget those away demolition jobs. We were rubbish. It says alot when our bottom of table opponents play with two up front and we play with one. Half time sub is a must. Bring on Kalinic or Benni, take off MGP. Boos at half time.
jonv Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 this is embarrassing. i watch better football on pub Sundays.
Backroom DE. Posted November 7, 2009 Backroom Posted November 7, 2009 I wonder how many of the HT boos were aimed at the players and how many were aimed at the manager? To me it's the system that's not working, the players aren't playing particularly badly (fact is, many of them just aren't very good). The only player deserving of boos is Chimbonda for his shocking attempt to punch a pompey player and get sent off.
martmitch Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 takes a man to admit he can be wrong sometimes, things need to change pretty drastically in this second half if we are to get anything
Iceman Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Rovers booed off at H/T. Sam only knows the 4-5-1, but you can't put square pegs in round holes. I'd take Pedersen/Diouf/Emerton off, put Kalinic up front with Di Santo and go 4-4-2 with Dunn/N'Zonzi in the middle. To hell with this Sam only knows 4-5-1 ######. He could have changed it midway through that 1st half. That 1st half made me cringe, it was awful, and i dont care what people say, but Williams has to do something. This is no knee jerk reaction, but we just cannot go on like this

We probably have to sell Dunn or Samba to pay off Sam.

G Somerset Rover Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Under Big Sam right now we are a George Graham team gone wrong. He sets his team out to nick a 1-0 and when that doesn't happen it's game over (or has been 9 times out of 10). By the way, why does Di Santo want to stay here? I know he plays but he gets bugger all service. Edit: I did say 9 times out of 10..today's that tenth!!
bigbrandjohn Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Blimey 433 dunn in midfield and Roberts and mcarthy on
Alan75 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Phew glad I was working and couldnt get to Ewood - Rovers need to pull something out of the bag or all the good work of low cost season tickets will backfire.
G Somerset Rover Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Blimey 433 dunn in midfield and Roberts and mcarthy on Great that we've brought two strikers on, but where's Kalinic????
Backroom DE. Posted November 7, 2009 Backroom Posted November 7, 2009 McCarthy and Roberts on. Roberts. Kalinic seems like a ridiculous waste of money right now. Hopefully Roberts can prove me wrong and score a hat trick to win us the game. Not confident of that happening, though.
martmitch Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 just had first attempt on target... at home
Amo Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I missed it who's off? Diouf, Pedersen > < McCarthy, Roberts
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I don't think you can totally put the blame on Sam, this is a side that has had peanuts spent on it over several seasons compared to most teams in the league. We have also sold numerous players (our best players) and have never had the full amount of money to replace them. The players and Sam should take some blame but so should the people that own the club.

jannerman Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I'm going to sound like a proper whinger here but I am seriously considering ignoring the rest of the season if the team is playing this badly against Portsmouth. I know they're just getting going but shouldn't we be giving them the runaround at home? Can't see the match, prolly glad I'm not able too, not awfully impressed with this...
Backroom DE. Posted November 7, 2009 Backroom Posted November 7, 2009 Robinson Givet Nelsen Samba Chimbonda Pedersen Emerton N'Zonzi Diouf Dunn Di Santo That team, peanuts or not, should be beating Portsmouth. How can we complain about funds when you look at Portsmouth's situation? Come on.
