What about Jermaine Beckford, Newcastle is trying to sign him for £2m, and he has scored 20 goals for Leeds this term, he must be better than Jonathan Stead that we also signed when Hudds were in league one.

I think we should ship Roberts out and get Jermaine in! What do you think?

He would surely be interested in joining Rovers!

He would also score goals!!

You begin to wonder if the board are unsure about Sham Allaryces judgement. We know we are.

Or if the board are once again not releasing funds for transfers.

Our current plight has been inevitable - you can't sell your best players (for big, big money mind) and replace them with lesser players on the cheap and expect to stay in the division. Yes there is a gap between income and player wages, but there's going to be an unbridgeable void when we get relegated. I'm really not a fan of Allardyce (his only redeeming feature is the quality of player he's brought into Ewood - Chimbonda, Jacobsen, Givet, N'Zonzi, Di Santo, Kalinic, Diouf [he was vital in keeping us up last season]) but I wouldn't wish any manager to be in the situation he finds himself in - saddled with a team full of overpaid wasters with no money to fix the problem.

We've been crying out for a good centre midfielder for years - Grella's a decent one and we look a different team when he's fit. The problem is he's never ever bloody fit. Dunn was a good one a few years ago, but his legs have gone. Scott Parker (who has been mentioned, but is almost certainly out of our price range) would transform this team into one that is very capable of staying in the league.

As it is perhaps Allardyce has lost the side and in our current situation that's an unrectifiable situation and he needs to go, though where we'd find the money to sack him and bring in a replacement is beyond me - perhaps Saint Mark of Wrexham will do us a favour....

I'm bored of david dunn. He is never fit, his legs are gone, he has this reputation of being the creative one but in reality we have only seen it v villa and bolton this season. I'm not sure he wants to be here and is likely one of the voices in the dressing room that is adding to the disquiet. Ledley is ok but too raw and for a fraction of the cost we would get the same risk from oliviera and linganzi. For a little more and I'm sure its been mentioned the likes of valbuena and coutadeur are being hawked by french agents. Zemamma also looks to have a bit of something about him but I'm not sure at what level.

Those are the games he scored in. He has also created many chances which have been squandered by other players.

While I agree here, it would ALSO be nice to see Ledley here as he fills the home-grown quota.

Not having a go, but wh are these players? It's the first I've heard or read of them.

Valbuena is at marseille dimiutive tricky playmaker. I always saw him as what villanueva could have been. Mattheau coutadeur is at monaco now bit more in the dunn mould controls the midfield. Zemamma is at hibs. A tricky midfielder. I'm in no way saying these players are the answer just offering a few ideas that may not cost the earth.

I'm also not doubting as its impossible not to that dunn has been our most creative outlet but he perhaps believes his own hype a little too much and his fitness and attitude outweigh it. Replacing him would not be a disaster

I remember Zemamma now from the pre-season game and I recall thinking he was what we needed. But I'm not sure. I think what we REALLY need is a Robbie Savage (not that I want him back, but somene in that mould) to support the defence a bit more along with a more creative type, as you say.

Perhaps Coutadeur has it allowing for the fact that you only see sporadic french highlights, add to that a little fifa and you tube scouting.

I always used to think michael bradley had it apart from running hot and cold, the latter mainly in internationals but no idea how he is getting on in germany. Fact is we have to look abroad as what would an english nzonzi cost? Ie a reasonable young mid.

It's all well and good looking abroad, but we have to get them when they are 17 at oldest in order to fill the home grown quota. That's why I was happy we were linked to Ledley for such a low price. Maybe that was just media claptrap?

Joe ledley is a pricey gamble for us. Does that start this or next season? So its hobsons choice. Try and find 42 million for shyte like kenwyne jones or look for bargains. Gone are the days when a poor club could use the skills of a resourceful manager and scouting network

Same old, same old. Reo-coker, who´s next? Annan? If we somehow had £5M to spend we wouldn´t spend it on R-C. Grella and Andrews to Villa and Reo-Coker to Rovers would be nice swap deal. BTW, it´s amusing what happend this guy. He was Hammers captain and scored late winner against Man Utd. He didn´t even smile because was so close transfer to Man Utd. No he is a basic transfer window rumour to Rovers and several other clubs.
