I can't see us buying anyone till Sam is sacked which will probably be soon. And if that is the case it is hard to see us brinign anyone in as the new manager will need to get settled.

To be honest we have the players to keep us up - this is all we can aim for now I think. It is just a case of motivating and organising them.

I hope that Sam tries to get these players:

- Ruben Micael, ofensive midfielder from Nacional. (FC Porto and Sporting lisbon are interested in him)

- Jorge Ribeiro, left defender or midfielder from Benfica. available for loan or to buy

- Nuno Gomes, SL Benfica striker, could be available on loan. He wants to play to get selected for the World Cup

Gary O'Neill for £5m........

Cant see it at that price!

More from the sun on this;

"Allardyce said: "We're aware of the availability of Gary O'Neil from Middlesbrough but at the moment we don't have any finances in place to move for any players.

"If that changes and the board tells me there is, then we'll have a look in the market. If it doesn't, then we stay with what we've got."

If we have two million for Diop surely Boateng would be a much better option.

He's been registered with Spurs & Pompey this season - therefore couldnt play for a 3rd this season!

Also - Joe Ledley is out injured for 6 months whilst he has an operation... :angry2:

I'd be happy if we got Gary O'Neil in. I've always thought that he was a decent player and was surprised that no one bought him when Middlesbourgh went down. Wasn't Strachan interested in bringing in Jason Roberts. Maybe there could be a swap deal of some sort? Although if this did happen, would we need to bring another striker, as Dunn is more or less playing that role at the moment? I'd be over the moon if we managed to bring in Diop. I've been a huge fan of his for years. He's a real powerhouse of a player and would certainly add some steel to our midfield. He wouldn't be the creative player that we need, but he would certainly make us stronger in that area. And with Portsmouth being in such a dire financial situation, they could well be tempted to let him go.

Yes, Sam, no finances. How clever of you. You've managed to alienate 50% of our strike force, openly offering them up to any taker whilst continually blaming them for the team's shortcomings.

So you will be left at the end of the transfer window with two demotivated and disillusioned strikers, and no money.

Man-management at it's best. Well done.

It shows how far we've fallen. Gary O'Neil is a spirited midfielder but nothing special. Yet he'd still improve our current lot.

Thats a bit harsh in my opinion, gary o'neill is a very good midfield player and one I thought suited brfc for a while. He has lots of attributes and its a shame we almost certainly wont be able to buy him. Or anyone of that calibre.

I hope and prey that tomorrow morning we have sorted a swap deal Roberts and Reid for O'Neill...

I would have thought it's more down to the fact we haven't offloaded anyone of real significance yet.

Has Van Heerden definitely gone?

It's going to be a joint Press Conference to announce a dual signing.

With Beattie.

;)

With Diop, Beattie and Gary O'Neil mentioned think this thread should renamed BIG SAMS DONKEY WATCH. :o

Who would you like to see signed?

Don't think that's quite the point, is it?

Are you happy for us to see a load of donkeys signed?

It's teh same sort of argument as: "If you don't want allardyce, who do you want?", as if that means the man can't be criticised unless we can come up with a sooper-dooper replacement who strangely isn't wanted by the top 4.

Constructive critisism is welcome, 'Allardyce is *$!£' isn't really getting us anywhere is it.

He's left the door open for Fat benni, a player who has broadcast that he wants to leave for two seasons now. There's nothing wrong with letting him leave if, as Sam has said, we can find a suitable replacement. Pedersen is another possibly on his way out, a player who hasn't played to his potential since his first season with us and was booed off the field by certain 'fans' last night.

The players who want out have alienated themselves. We can all blame Sam for lots of things but not that.

When the manager has a mind like concrete (and wouldn'ty think of reading these boards for advice anyway, I'm sure), then constructive criticism can be futile.

Getting frustration off your chest alternatively, is fine.

I dread to think that we're stuck with him for the next 2 years, it's not going to be much fun.

How has Sam alienated 50% of his strike force? I suggest they've alienated him (and us). Robert's form has been atrocious, Benni came back from his hols fat as a pig and admits he hasn't met the fitness targets Sam set him! Then he goes on about missing the World Cup in South Africa as if its Sam's fault. You'd be no good as a manager, the players would have it all over you. Those two have been treated exactly as they deserve. They are not the future, they are the past.

Just seen on sky that it's looking like hull. We should be looking at short term

deals like that. Interesting that hull were saying last week thY they needed to cut the wage bill, wonder if zamalak are still going to be paying part of his wages just to get him out on loan. I didn't think hull had the money to bring anyone else in.

Like the sound of o'neil from boro, liked him at Pompey. Just depends if we can do a deal with roberts I guess.
