I've just had someone pop their head round the door to make sure I'm OK after reading that. They mistook my scream of excitment for one of pain.

Off you go son don't let the door hit you on the way out. Not that it will, you do have a habit of missing things.

That whole story is nonsense; this quote alone negates the logos and puts serious doubts on the ethos of the writer.

"Latics chief Roberto Martinez is keen to land a proven Premier League goalscorer and could get Roberts for around £1.5million."

Hope it is true however and I am sure that Roberts will be happy back at Wigan.

His running and strength will be missed, always been a shame that he just can’t seem to finish.

From today`s Times "Blackburn Rovers interest in Camel Meriem the former Monaco midfield player has ended". No reason is given nor further information. Can anyone else confirm this?

Didn't Allardyce say already last week that Meriem is a good lad, but not the player we're looking for?

I'm pretty sure the door will have no problem hitting that fat arse...

Huntelaar wants out of Milan on loan - I would deffo be interested!

Get rid of Roberts, use the part of the transfer fee and his wages to pay Huntelaar! That's one of the good things about Sam, he will go after players that you would think would be too good for you club. I don't see this happening at all, but I'm sure if we did get rid of Roberts, Sam would enquire about Huntelaar, only for him to turn us down flat. No harm in asking though.

My guess is that we didn´t sign Meriem because the board was´t sure if Sam would still be the manager next week.

I thought the reason was that the board have agreed to make some funds available for players, but only for young players who have resale value. Not sure the board wanted a 6 month stop gap on 20k a week who is the wrong side of 30

I'm choosing to read it in such away that means they are trying to sign two strikers

If he could finish, he would not be playing for us! I would snap wigan's hands off if they offered us 1.5m for Roberts. Not good enough, and far too many calls against him from the referees.

And there is probably a higher chance of pigs flying than us getting Huntelaar.

£3m though - we need to stay clear of that one - WAY too expensive!!

Indeed. The only time I ever got excited about Beattie was when a swap deal involving Roberts was mooted.

Any sort of straight cash deal with would a step in the wrong direction for me.

There was a lengthy piece in last weeks Lancashire Telegraph in which Sam said that as much as Meriem impressed on trial, he was really only looking for players who he thought could make a really major impact for the rest of the season and he didn't think this lad fitted into that category.

Everyone seemed to overlook this article as a few days earlier nicko said he'd be signing and then there was the hoo-ha in the aftermath of the Citeh game.

The real reason of course might be that we can't even accomodate him on the wages budget without offloading someone. Let alone a Gudjohnsen or even a Beattie.

No, that's what nicko suggested Sam asked the Board/owners for. If Sam did indeed ask that, there's no proof the Board/owners have agreed.

Neither is there any evidence for the assertion that has been floated about since Citeh that that funds are being witheld from Sam. Within the budgets laid down by the Board, we simply don't have any until we offload one or two.

Pretty much agree with this. I'd maybe be happy to see us pay a minimal fee whilst throwing Roberts into the mix too.

But to be honest, as much as Beattie would give us more than Roberts, if the talk of dressing room unrest is true, i'd avoid Beattie. Free or otherwise. He's another one who could easily come back and haunt Sam when things don't look too rosy.

3/1 for him still to be here looks an absolute steal.

If Sky Bet knew of any concrete interest from abroad a price would surely be quoted for the Club in question.

I honestly believe we should try and punt him to the MLS as one of their "flair" players, or designated player (which ever you prefer.)

First time in a while the transfer window is very quiet...

Interestingly enough we also don't have any Bellamy, Bentley, Friedel, Santa Cruz or Mark Hughes to sell. The Premiership vultures have taken our keeper, our playmaker, our top scorer, our manager, and now there's nothing else to take. But they are merciful enough to let us keep Andrews and Diouf I guess.

19.06 Reports in Holland suggest Blackburn forward Maceo Rigters is a target for a Chinese club. The Dutchman has been a fringe player at Ewood Park since joining from NAC Breda in 2007.

I've never wanted Sky Sports to be more right than right now!

He was at his best on Sunday, doing jack all yet again! or maybe he mentally tells R Keef where to point?
