AggyBlue Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 He does not seem 100% focused for some reason. I agree. What was the explanation for appearing to be mouthing 'F' off to the crowd after he scored against Foolham? Is he the latest that has decided the grass is greener?

Steve Moss Posted January 22, 2010 Author Posted January 22, 2010 FansFC is reporting that Roberts may be going to Wigan for 1.5 million. [Please be true. ] http://www.fansfc.com/BlackburnRovers/story/18430/4.html Tribal, quoting the Western Mail, alleges that Joe Ledley is re-opening talks with Cardiff City. So I guess the Rover interest was not sufficiently flattering. http://www.tribalfootball.com/ledley-reopens-talks-over-new-cardiff-deal-589911
67splitscreen Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Still better than anything we've got. True he was, compared to our current options, he can't be match fit and would need at least a month to get up to speed, and no re-sale value.
Miker Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I agree. What was the explanation for appearing to be mouthing 'F' off to the crowd after he scored against Foolham? Is he the latest that has decided the grass is greener? I'd be pretty ###### off as well if after so much hard work over the years and being excited about a cup semi final, I then ended up going onto a pitch filled with an embarassing amount of supporters, creating a lacklustre atmosphere. If that was me I would be completely shattered in my desire to play and my confidence in winning. I'd also be ###### off at people constantly putting down my manager and teammates. People were condoning selling him after 1 horrible mistake, after he's been so good for the majority of his time here. Players need fans to believe in them and to support them. They're professional athletes, they're not professional at keeping their cool under pressure or professional at keeping their frustrations at bay. There was a huge contrast between playing Villa at Ewood and playing Villa away.
mellison24 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Not if we get Mellison on the case 'What d you think Watson?' 'More milk!'
JWUpper Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 west ham lodged a 2 million bid for fat man according to sky! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5877456,00.html

Is he the latest that has decided the grass is greener? It's something about Fulham at Ewood. I recall Tugay told us to 'F off' as well when he scored that cracking volley from a corner (after Pedersen had scored too). Think it was 2-1 to rovers in the end.
67splitscreen Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 3mil at least. 2.5mil won't buy squat. Who exactly does 3m buy with any pedigree or potential, unless there are additional funds we will be weakening our goal scoring options IMO.
Mozzer Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 so looks like we could be getting rid of mcarthy and bringing in james beattie im not totally against the idea - im a fan of james beattie and its not just because hes from blackburn allardyce to me isnt stupid - i mean hardly any one his signings have been failures - i trust sam in what he feels is the best for the club

Ped did it recently too. Usually it's the reaction to the pressure they are under and a release. With Big Chris it looked like he was aiming it at someone in particular. It didn't seem to be aimed at Sam though...

Think it was 2-1 to rovers in the end. 2 of the best goals ever scored at Ewood-in the one match! And 16000 there to see them! I assumed Samba was looking up at the press box.

'F off' is quite similar to 'F-ing get in!' in terms of the swear, but is generally heard more? It could be a simpkle mistake due to the adrenalin rush of scoring?
alexanders Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 More on Bastürk : He is closer I am not fluent in german, but I think this article says the he is closer to a move and there is discussions going on between Stuttgart and Rovers about a loan move. Translated from google: Basturk before moving to Blackburn Rovers Midfielder Yildiray Basturk from VfB Stuttgart, is faced with a move to Blackburn Rovers in the English Premier League. as the "Stuttgarter Zeitung reported," to the negotiations between the club from the North West and the 31-year-olds are nearing completion.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Good god im actually in danger of looking forwards to a january transfer nearing completion. Cue Nicko to come and ###### on our parade...
Bobby G Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Basturk has faded last few years. Hasnt been the same since his Leverkusen days. Hasnt played in God knows how long. None of my Turkish friends think he can recapture the old days.
S15 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Sounds like Benni's replacement has already been sounded out then.
Bobby G Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 And replace him with someone who is at the same age and possibly slightly under in the wages category? Like I said I would be disappointed if its Beattie for Benni and Roberts stays here. Im happy enough with James joining us but not for the wrong striker!
JAL Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Basturk has faded last few years. Hasnt been the same since his Leverkusen days. Hasnt played in God knows how long. None of my Turkish friends think he can recapture the old days. Definitely not of the standard required along with Beattie.
Iceman Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Basturkey might not be, the player he use to be, but he is better than Andrews, Mgp and Diouf.
Iceman Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Definitely not of the standard required along with Beattie. With limited funds available, who would you rather have? Il be happy with Basturk, he will be much better than Andrews, Mgp and Diouf. Robbo Chimbonda Samba Nelsen Givet Hoilett Emerton Basturk Olsson Dunn Kalinic
Hughesy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Getting rid of Benni for £3m + his wages would save us over £4m......would anyone consider doing that and not replacing him, IF we can gaurantee the money is then available in the summer?!
modes98 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Would you consider relegation Hughesy? Having said that Olsson seemed determined to prove he could play CF against Villa! We need to have strikers who score goals because or midfield doesn't chip in with enough.
