I'm amazed that Sam hasn't gone in for this guy:

Celtic close in on striker

Why? Because his nickname is "Duncan" as his playing style is supposedly similar to that of Big Dunc Ferguson. A Sam striker if ever there was one.

Its because you haven't seen him play. He got the name around the age of 15, when he was stronger than all the other players at that age. Although he does score some goals,he goes hot and cold and is injured a lot - and thats in the danish league...

but with Benni acting like a complete prat (not training for 2 days and refusing to play for us again) he cannot stay at the club. If he goes we have to bring at least a striker in.

Where has this been reported, on SSN?

We went for Johnson but Chelsea dwarfed us.

Moses will end up at a top 5 team

Beckford has signed a pre-contract at Everton if rumours are correct.

:rover: pre-contracts mean f-all,lets get a bid in,this guy looks good,very good :blush::brfc:

Just came on SSN now, Benni phoned the SSN reporter. Says he didn't attend training on friday, hasn't done today either and won't be coming back to Rovers. Says he is surplus to requirements and wants to go to West Ham.

Surely this puts him in breach of contract and liable to punary action by Rovers?

Shocking attitude from him. Considering he's been here for the best part of 4 years you'd think he'd at least want to leave with a bit of dignity instead of dragging the club through the mud with him. If this is the sort of tantrum he throws just to engineer a move then he'll struggle to attract any buyers. His childish attitude isnt helping anybody particularly himself if he thinks that displaying this sort of behaviour will entice West Ham.

The benni situation is a case of you reap what you sow for Sam. I know Benni is an unprofessional pain in the bum but Sam has not handled this situation well.

You can say that again, extremely poor management on Sams part.

Benni doesnt make the club and in particular Sam Allardyce any good at all.

Prick.

That is unacceptable behavior.

He waited until we were out of the League Cup and now he's throwing his toys out once more.

For all the quality he obviously brings to us on the pitch, he can go for nothing for all I care. Ill take 10 Beatties over him anyday. At least he would care about the shirt.

Can only sign pre-contracts with clubs in a different country. Now I know there ae issues between Yorks and Lancs but that's stretching it a bit far Hughesy.

Dont be so naive....clubs tap players up all over the place, pre-contracts will be agreed, just not showed to certain people!

Fine the little fat @#/?!

You cannot blame Sam.....Sam said get fit & il play you....he hasnt done. Sam then had him in for extra training, you cant motivate someone that doesnt listen! Its Benni's fault - nobody else's. Thats just a kop out!!

The reason Sam was abroad??

South Korea international Koo Ja-cheol has claimed there is a 50-50 chance that he will join Blackburn before the transfer window closes.

The Jeju United midfielder revealed initial discussions have taken place and that further talks are planned over a prospective switch to Ewood Park.

Koo won his fifth cap for South Korea in Friday's 1-0 friendly win over Latvia in Malaga

You can most certainly blame Sam for this one, and Dunn, and Hoillet, and....

Can Sam do the running for Benni!? What would you like him to do, tie him to a rope on the back of his car and took him for a run down the M6??

Hoilett wants to be a striker....Sams team see him as a winger at the moment - Thats the problem with that one!

Dunn - Agreed he is a problem there

How can Sam be blamed for these?

McCarthy - Benni played whenever in the mood. Hughes dropped him on more than one occasion and Sam has given him every chance to get fit. He has continually chosen not to do so.

Dunn - Played some of his best football for years under Sam before he got injured. He has the choice to sign a new contract or not.

Hoillet - Sam brought him into the squad and gave him first team football. Like Dunn, he has the choice to sign a contract or not.

Ultimately, the manager dictates the tactics and style of play. The players are paid to play - or are you suggesting that the players be allowed to rule.

Time for the club to back the manager and get rid of players who don't want to play for the club.

Seems to me phillipl that you've joined the "Sam is the blame for everything club"

Couldn't we just let him stay wherever he's now hiding and not even try to sell him, fine him 2 weeks' wages every 2 weeks as he's breaching his contract, and loan a replacement with the saved cash?

I thiink this is actually a possibility? We can insist on him turning up to training if he wants to get paid.

However it is worth considering:-

1) Benni can buy himself out of contract, right? Can anyone let us know exactly how that works?

2) I think, if he wanted, he could take Rovers to court to release him. The area of contractual agreements where a club can hold sway over a player are flimsy I think, and open to challenge.

To be honest I think our hand will be forced.
