thenodrog Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Agree with regards to Bentley - but doubt he would want to return or rovers could get him on loan. Pity though. Absolute last chance saloon time for a crack at the world cup squad for Bentley. If he's playing regularly and bossing games and no matter how unlikely it be if Lennon / SWP should both get crocked then he might just be in with a shout. Otherwise his career has peaked.

alexanders Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Forest interested in Moses We should be able to compete with them.
PAFELL Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Forest interested in Moses We should be able to compete with them. I think Billy Davies is a very underrated manager. He is doing good for Forest and they are playing some decent football as well. As to Rovers competing with Forest, maybe even they have more money than Rovers.
mellison24 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Surely the 2mil from McCarthy (plus manipulation of spare wages) can go to Ibricic. The board are supposedly willing to cough up for an 'investment player'. That player's name is Moses. Is this too simple?
Amo Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Forest interested in Moses We should be able to compete with them. I doubt we can compete with Forest Green Rovers.
pick32 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Moses would be an amazing signing, if we would raid palace I think sean scannel and nathaniel clyne would also be two good players for the future.
Hughesy Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Basturk on loan....Moses as an investment - no more ins or outs (unless someone wants Andrews).....Id be happy with that for now.
nicko Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I hear it is 4-5-1 again tonight...makes you wonder...is there a change of emphasis [again?].
alexanders Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I hear it is 4-5-1 again tonight...makes you wonder...is there a change of emphasis [again?]. To be fair we played 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 against both Fulham and Aston Villa with either Benni or Dunn behind Kalinic.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I hear it is 4-5-1 again tonight...makes you wonder...is there a change of emphasis [again?]. If that 4-5-1 - has Kalinic up front - Hoilett on the right, Olsson on the left - with Dunny just behind - Wouldn't be too disappointed. The reason that the formation han't always worked - is lack of pace from midfield - add Emerton and possibly Reid - and we would have a better chance of making the formation work and be entertaining as well
Helmshore blue Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I hear it is 4-5-1 again tonight...makes you wonder...is there a change of emphasis [again?]. If by 4-5-1 you mean Dunn or similar behind a striker. Its no different to benni playing off the striker. The past few weeks benni has been asked to do exactly what Dunn has been doing for us, the formation hasnt changed whatsoever.
Hughesy Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 4-5-1 - Reid & Emerton in the middle, Dunn just ahead, Olsson & Hoilett on the wings please.....
Helmshore blue Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Id rather see MGP in the middle with Reid, with Emerton wide right, Olsson wide left
G Somerset Rover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 If Dunn's out and we play 4-5-1 then we better still have somebody in the hole. Playing 4-5-1 with just one striker and no attacking midfielder on show would be suicidal for Allardyce should we not win the game.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I haven't seen Beattie play for some time. But the one thing that has always struck me with Dunny is the extra effort he puts in when we are in a lull in play, or just playing poorly. You can tell as a fellow supporter he cares. If Beattie still holds the club in his heart as a supporter - I would hope we would see similar commitment and passion. None of this would be guaranteed forom an unknown foreign player. I am sure people around the Blackburn area know Beattie - and whether he would show the same passion as Dunny - but it is a thought.
alexanders Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Dunn is ready for tonight's clash sommerset.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Any new interest in Pedersen Nicko? Fenerbahce still interested? Won't get much for him but its better than nothing, which is what we will get if he moves in the summer.

Won't get much for him but its better than nothing, which is what we will get if he moves in the summer. I wouldnt mind seeing Pedersen in the middle again tonight, if he can start to find form in a new position perhaps keeping him would be for the best and saving the cash for other positions.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Dunn is ready for tonight's clash sommerset. What happened to the 9 week story?? I've just read that he's in the squad - I will be suprised if he starts though given how cautious we have to be with him. IF he is out then I'd play Hoilett in the hole if Allardyce has to go 4-5-1.
Gav Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I haven't seen Beattie play for some time. But the one thing that has always struck me with Dunny is the extra effort he puts in when we are in a lull in play, or just playing poorly. The more cynical sections of the supports would put that down the his ongoing contract negations
Ewood Spark Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Basturk just signed for initial 6 month deal.
RibbleValleyRover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Can't do any harm taking him on loan and see how he does. He was a cracking player a few years back and played a big part in that very decent Turkish side in the 2002 World Cup, if he regain some of that form he could be a good addition to the squad.
John Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 2002 World Cup was a while ago, but agree, loan deal not much to lose.
