DeadlyDirk Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I don't think it'll be Vaughan but it's definitely a possibility, if Sam wants a proven scorer then Vaughan isn't the man, especially considering his injury record. Promising player but I don't think he's the answer as a short term option. If it was a permanent signing on the cheap then I'd be all for it. Sounds more like an old timer to me who is available on the cheap.
Mr. E Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 If we can't buy anyone decent I'd rather we stick to giving opportunities to Di Santo and waiting for him to come good. Absolutely no one mentioned so far fills me with more confidence than a Di Santo/Kalinic partnership. Just invest the money in some lucky charms and pray that neither gets injured.
BigJackWalker Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 dose that rule beatie out of any possible transfer that makes me sad
dillhallblue Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 From what Nicko has said is it just me that thinks it will be someone who is either available for free or on loan? Also possibly someone who is in their 30's judging by his comment about age of transfers so far this window But he also said that it looks like the money from Benni & also money pumped in by the trustees will be used in the possible transfer !! That means one thing - going to be paying big wages to someone !! It all leads to one name - Emile Heskey !!! But Nicko's description does match Robinho !!!!!!!!!!! & he did say its one of the craziest windows he's known.
ebenrocks Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 We're not getting Robinho... i'll just let you know that now
Exiled_Rover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Some of these guesses are ludicrous. Nicko says possible loan or free. So are we going to get the likes of Pavyluchenko, Ebanks Blake or Doyle on either of them? I think the best guess so far is Healy at Sunderland Except he can finish.
roverlution Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 But he also said that it looks like the money from Benni & also money pumped in by the trustees will be used in the possible transfer !! If we're on about the big wages I still think Utaka's in with a shout - Portsmouth must want rid. Marcus Bent? (or is he still on loan at Middlesborough?)
jonv Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 pompey have bough in Quincy Owusu-Abeyie from Spartak Moscow on loan until the end of the season, possible cover for an outgoing?
Blue n White Rover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 We're not getting Robinho... i'll just let you know that now I see what you're doing there...
laughatthedingles Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Has to be one of the following: Harewood, Sidebe (although you wouldn't get him on a free so doubt that), or o'connor.
chaddyrovers Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 what about the Pav at spurs...might be him,. i hope so. very good striker. be happy with Aruna Dindane. got pace. maybe what we need.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Has to be one of the following: or o'connor. You could be on to something with the Brum thing - they have a few strikers who don't get a game. O'Connor..McSheffrey...Bent's just gone back from his loan I think.. .
ebenrocks Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I see what you're doing there... we're also not getting Kaka for £45.00 or a billionaire owner who has a mental disorder meaning he can't say no
The Rover of Finland Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Kanu, Camara or Nevland. Gotta be!
RoyRover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Nicko, what has happened to our interest in Senijad Ibricic? Would the money from the McCarthy sale go toward buying him or are we no longer interested. I really hope we get this guy. Any word on Pedersen? Have Fenerbache been tipped off that he's crap and are having second thoughts?
1864roverite Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 For the LAST time Harewood is injured, out for 3 months broken foot.
AJW Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I know there has been no progress on Beattie today...and obviously Gudjohnsen is torn between two teams in London. Heard there is another striker under discussion...it may come to nothing. If I learn any more later I will share. Clues? Premier League, possible loan/free, runs about a lot, difficulties connecting cows backsides and banjos. got to be Ngog
T4E Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Yeah, Liverpool play Ngog quite a lot, but are willing to let him go on a free transfer. It's got to be him. Nice one Columbo.
jim mk2 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Well, it ain't this player 1 football Burnley Snap Burnley have confirmed the signing of Leon Cort from Stoke for £1.5million on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
mellison24 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 For the LAST time Harewood is injured, out for 3 months broken foot. How long have you known this messageboard?
Blue n White Rover Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 got to be Ngog The only fit and recognised striker Liverpool have? Doubt it.
nicko Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Nicko, what has happened to our interest in Senijad Ibricic? Would the money from the McCarthy sale go toward buying him or are we no longer interested. I really hope we get this guy. Any word on Pedersen? Have Fenerbache been tipped off that he's crap and are having second thoughts? There's obviously an interest in Ibricic because Rovers keep going back to look at him....but that position only becomes a necessity if Morten goes now...word from Fenerbahce is that he is still on their list...but he is playing tonight, so perhaps he is in no rush.
