You could be on to something with the Brum thing - they have a few strikers who don't get a game.

O'Connor..McSheffrey...Bent's just gone back from his loan I think.. :o.

It was reported yesterday that McLeish is on the lookout for a new striker to boot.

Anyone get the feeling we are not going to like this one if it comes off. :(

My money is on Benjani. Well past his best, dodgy knees, doesn't score enough and probably wouldn't cost much. So a front line of two Roberts style players, young Franco and Kalinic.

ESPN reckons that we have joined the race for him as well:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=732230&sec=transfers&cc=5739

There's obviously an interest in Ibricic because Rovers keep going back to look at him....but that position only becomes a necessity if Morten goes now...word from Fenerbahce is that he is still on their list...but he is playing tonight, so perhaps he is in no rush.

He's probably going to sign a pre-contract and leave for free in the summer. I'd rather we sold him now for what we can and bring in someone like Ibricic who is younger, costs less wages and has potential.

Has to be one of the following:

Harewood,

Sidebe (although you wouldn't get him on a free so doubt that),

or o'connor.

It doesn't have to be one of those at all.

It is DEFINITELY not Harewood, he was off to Newcastle but broke his foot and will now miss the majority of the remaining season.

Sidibe? Sincerely doubt it. No goalscoring record to speak of and Pulis likes him.

O'Connor? The most realistic of the lot but I'd still bet a significant amount it's not him.

Fancy a wager that it isn't one of those three?

I believe its Aruna Dindane!!! He's got pace, just what we need upfront! Pace and good finisher with Kalinic!

The player in question (according to nicko) is a shyte finisher.

Benjani.

Hence Nicko's quip about the age of players moving in the transfer window. [Doubts about Benjani's real age].

Kanu? Even MORE doubts about age....

I don't understand this, we already have Roberts?

If it's not him, what about Grabbi or Kuqi

Kuqi scored quite a few.. Great return.. and brought in a profit when he left.. much more useful than grabbi. shouldnt be in the same sentence

I said a while ago, that 2 Ivorian journalists mentioned that we were after Dindane, O' Hara and Belhadj. They also mentioned that Dindane French club, would be happy to see him leave Pompey. Im guessing its either Henri Camara, Dindane, Benjani, Mcfadden, Davies or Beattie.

Sam, you misinterpreted, seeing as how any old names were being thrown about, I thought I'd toss a couple in, and Kuqi's probably available!

Anyway, I thought he was great when we had him, proper battering ram!

Even further up the ladder, a certain Mr Stead!

i dont get why were not in for Moses WBA just bid £1.5million for him. Hes not gonna cost that much and is gonna be worth a lot more in future.

We should at leat try even if we fail we can sya we tried.

Big Sam did say he wanted to focus on younger players with resale value. Time to put his money where his mouth is.

What about Robbie Keane at Spurs hes available though probably out of Rovers budget.

Rumour is Celtic want him but they cant afford his wages as a whole but only half, so their main man is trying to stump up the difference to bring him to Celtic park.

The administrators have pulled him out of their game tonight with barcodes.

His agent says he will be sold, probably this week but not necessarily to the highest bidder  want to bet.
