couple of goals in a couple of weeks weighed against 4 years of dross and 6-7m of wasted wages, see yer later mort.

Thing with Pedersen is he's playing more central again and with him being both footed he is in my opinion more suited centrally. He seems to be finding a bit of form. Might be worth keeping him until the end of the season in that central position.

Sign Morten on a new contract and sell him on the cheap in the summer. Why do we need to let a 28 year-old international go for free? No question imo.

Or we could sell him now for a fee instead of letting him go on a free in the summer. No doubt he has picked up his game a bit and looks a bit like his old self but is that because he knows his contract is running out and is trying to sell himself to other clubs? If we offer him a new deal what's the chances of him going back to the rubbish Pedersen we have seen for the last few years?

the difference with pedersen is the position he is playing in, not just his form. the fact that he's playing in the middle, where you dont need to have so much pace in comparison to the left wing, gives him more time to pick a pass. He looks far more comfortable then he did, plus he is scoring.

I say that if Sam continues playing him in the middle then he's worth more to us then the small amount of money we'd recieve for him.

Peds is a tricky one he HAS the ability but is a confidence player, has the confidence come from other interest or because he has a new role in the middle of the park?

He is an international and his own fans rate him very highly as I do and not to mention he is a nice guy to boot, but sometimes he just doesnt show up to games.

To let him go on a free or for a minimal fee isnt good enough because someone somewhere will get the best out of him, I think we need to see a bit of man management here (maybe that is what we are seeing) because I really dont see Peds in a turkish league, the hot weather wont suit him one bit.

When he plays in the middle the question I ask myself is.... him or Andrews and no offense meant but the answer is Peds everytime, if we let him go we are losing the last bit of creativity we have left.

I was going to say the same thing. Pedersen is playing well in the middle. He has no pace to play wide and is a technically gifted player who is creative enough to spray the ball around from the middle. His confidence is back too as during the last couple of matches his set pieces have vastly improved. Worth the experiment Id say.

I don't see how that's relevant. If a suitable offer comes in and he wants to leave then we would probably sell him, otherwise there's no issue. If he wants to stay then we have an in-form player on our hands back to his best. It's a bit silly to think that he has upped his form specifically to be sold and if he isn't then he'll just go back to being useless.

If anything, I'd say that he knows his contract is running out and he's doing his best to win a new one. To be honest, if he keeps up this form then it's still very hard to say no. I think with the confidence he has now and possibly by playing in this new position he can shine and be like a new player for us. It depends on the money we get for him though, as I don't think it will be a lot. Would you want to sell him for 1-2mil?

What are some of you lot on?

Sell Pederson for 1 0r 2 million and keep Julie Friggin Andrews!!!

In todays market £5,000,000 minumum the way he's playing, he is a top player, trust me!

Both I and Majiball saw months ago Ped could play centre mid, you all laughed, we said he would get on the knockdowns and score, he's done just that, he can pass, he can shoot, puts a shift in!!

I don't see how that's relevant.

Plays dire for 2-3 seasons then with a few months of his contract left starts to show signs of the player he once was. Of course its a relevant point. What has changed for him to come out of his slumber? You can't base it purely on the position he has played for the last two games as he was showing some signs of decent form before then.

Wouldn't be the first player to pick up some form in order to try and get sold or as a fall-back option sign a new deal and go back to their usual self.

I just think it's silly from a business stand point not to sign him on when he has some resale value still. He's 28 now, and might go on a free. For a club of our size and in the current economic climate we can't really afford to let a proven (some might say that's debatable) Premier League player for nothing. We don't know the chances, but it's not a big risk to sign him on a new contract if his wages aren't drastically increased - and even MGP should be realistic enough to realise he hasn't done much to deserve a pay rise since signing on the dotted line the last time.

as long as hes in the team he'll take all set pieces, and bar 1 good corner tonight he should never be let near a dead ball situation, one swallow does'nt make a summer and all that.

You have to balance what Mortens got or can bring to the team, aginst what we've already got, and what we could possibly afford to bring in.

Just dont see how signing Morten on could prevent the club from looking to further investment in another young attack minded left sided .

You do realise that if he goes back to playing like he did for the last 2-3 seasons after he signs a new deal we could be stuck with him? No clubs have shown interest in Pedersen for several years for a reason (until recently of course because of his contract status).

We are probably looking at a 2-3 year deal and i can't see him taking a pay cut (Pedersen is one of our biggest earners if rumours are true). If he goes back to his old self then its a complete waste.

I've made my viewpoint known and i'm not going to flog a dead horse. Let's see what Sam, the board and the player decides.

makes no sense at all, barmy signing if true......so di santo and roberts will compete with another incompetent striker for a place that dunn will probably have when fit?????????????what a huge potential waste of wages, i take it city don't want andrews in an exchange.

The only way I'd resign Pedersen is if he's earmarked for that attacking centre mid role he's been playing. He's looked fantastic there - creative, wins balls in the air, intelligent runs and does enough running to not be a liability. It also means you have a v. good set piece taker on the pitch (though the long throws can be binned).

If he's being signed to play LM when Dunn is fit then I'd let him go and focus on finding a LB/LM instead.
