Ilan is signing for West Ham according to Sky so it fits. Shame.

Up to their necks in debt and intent on signing just about everybody that becomes available. Benny, Robbie Keane, and now this fella. Either they have found a money tree, the boleyn ground is sat on an oil well which they can exploit when they become Wet Spam Olympic or they'll follow Pompey down the pan.

Guess which is my clear choice?

I said there was loads going on...but nothing really new Rovers-wise.

Must be the case as your manager is on Tv and not exactly chasing players by the looks.

With all due respect Nicko is it not Sams job to identify the players he wants, and up to others to do the necessary?

Talking of tv, it seems your mate is never off it these days, when some would say he would be better off concentrating on trying to keep that lot up.

You never know he could be the first man to take two clubs down in one season.

Which side of the bed did you get out of today

Lewandowski is an interesting player. I think Rovers have watched him but I don't know if it has gone that much further.

On Pompey...there would be real trouble if they went bust...I am told all points gained against them would be struck from the record.

Only two other teams would go down. But if they vanished completely that would mean an extra promotion place from League One and League Two probably.

Well if they have to look elsewhere due to missing out on the brazillian - maybe Lewandowski is worth a gamble.

Well worth the risk if they stay up. Cream crackered if they go down though, but I suppose you could say the same about 3/4 of the established PL clubs.

And if the English and French Wikipedia's are to be trusted on this, the Brazilian is moving on free transfer. Just the wages to gamble with.

Now thats interesting, because we wait on the Benni deal to be completed, and then sign the Brazilian. So why did West Ham, also suddenly become interested in that Brazilian? West Ham are like Spurs, wait for somebody else to be linked to another club, and then go after him as well. Dont they have their own scouts?

I don't know if you noticed but they were taken over.

Futhermore they haven't spent a penny yet during the window and let Jimenez go back to Italy.

They still have debts, which Gold and Sullivan will need to pay. They are also willing to pay huge wages, which if they go down will hurt them. If you havent noticed, Pompey also got taken over. ;)

G & S are not a pair of dodgy foreigners who know nothing about running a football club.

Pompey is a disgrace, who actually owns them at the moment, does anybody know ?!

So, the debt is now in the porn boys' name, it's the same debt.

I would wager that if things were to go tits up at WHU, The Porn Barons will not be liable for the debt, the most they will lose will be the stake money they bought the club with. any profit to be made on the club is hinged on a gamble, that they get the Olympic stadium. Two slippery characters trying to earn a quick quid out of a club under the pretence they are fans.

I couldn't agree more Nelson. A pair of dodge pots.

Why do people get all steamed up about Brazilians? Not many have done really well in the Prem, perhaps only Juninho, they have a habit of going missing on the park when things are going badly, Anderson is no great shakes at Man U and he is playing in a decent team!!

Personally, I think players from Scandinavian countries, and western Europe are the better bets!!

Its for me down to mentality and attitude and I dont think the majority of the Brazilians posses that!

The 'Porn Baron's are skilled when it comes to PR. Whilst we are certainly not flush with cash the debt has been exaggerated/overplayed to drum up thanks and support for our 'saviours'. At least they have bought in with real cash as opposed to more loans which the other interested parties apparently wanted to do.

We were also linked with this Brazilian fella in the press maybe a week ago.

Yesterday's game was horrific. Your best player by a country miles was Kalinic. Sadly he had no decent supply all game and it appeared to me at least that you were not playing a style that suited him anyway. The main thing I took away from yesterday was frostbite.

All the best.

19th Jan- first one I came across.

You don't have to, mate. But you are very good at keeping the suspense up. You a soap-opera writer? Well, I guess being a journo is close enough!

Something is moving...very late.

However at least three other clubs are sniffing after this guy.

It would be quite a neat signing and fits in with other events of the past two days.

So for that reason - and the fact I want to keep the story to myself - I will sign off for now.

Indeed and looking where Sam played Benni I dont see Sam going for a striker, if we sign Beattie I think our other targets must have failed.

Will look a bit strange Sam saying we are not looking for a striker if one turns up, or maybe its just a smokescreen.

If he doesn't sign another striker then it could be bad. If Niko gets injured, we are basically left with two strikers who just cannot finish.

Ah, but I see it as if we can't play Niko, he will go 442 with DiSanto + Roberts roughing up the defence, while the likes of Pedersen, Olsson, Hoilett, Dunn go for goal.

More like back to 4-5-1 with Roberts missing from 2 yards. Woo-hoo. I can't hardly wait for that negative borefest. The sooner this season finishes, we hopefully backheel BFS, and get someone in with a bit more ambition and positivity the better.
