4 clubs want Treacy

Boro, Hibs, Barnsley & Preston all want him - but apparently Preston are in advanced negotiations.

Hopefully we can get rid of some of these fringe/ not good enough type players. Rigters, Van Herden, Treacy & Zurab would signal a good start!

The 4 clubs link is from yesterday's news on Skysports.com - if today's reports are accurate, then it would seem that Preston have jumped to the head of the claimed queue.

Sure I read in the LT this morning that although Killie were in for Rigters we didn't want to let him go. He must make a mean brew or something that lad.

Aye - as hollowsr points out, Van Halen and Zurab have already gone.

From BBC

1033: More rumours - Aston Villa's Steve Sidwell reportedly going to Stoke City and Burnley's Tyrone Mears linked with Sunderland. Meanwhile, the 'Michael Owen to Aston Villa' chat is spreading like the proverbial wildfire...

Never mind a forward, Steve Sidwell would be perfect for us, a proper box to box midfielder.

all this striker talk is rubbish...we don't need a desperation signing now....keep the money in the bank, see what comes out of the World Cup and buy in summer...we're in a strong position league-wise and Kalinic is coming to the fore....I dont want a journey man like Benjani/Dindane or whoever...changing clubs like their undies.. :angry2:

Another rat deserting ship?

Owen on loan for the remainder of season?

What and pay a few more million once somebody has banged a few in at South Africa? No thanks.

We've known all month that Benni was leaving, so we shouldn't be panicked into buying a Dindane or Benjani or whoever it may be. If Sam didn't want a striker then we should have lined somebody else up.

I too wouldn't mind knowing what our scouts do for the majority of the season. Their motto must be "if all else fails resort to plan A".

I'll happily eat my words BTW when we parade a new striker or midfielder who nobody had seen on our radar.

I thought we all felt that Mark Hughes knew a player when he saw one and he signed Benjani!

The Moose on Talksport says that the stumbling block for all Dindane's suitors is that Lens want a clause in the loan agreement that it becomes permanent in the summer as long as the team who takes him is still in the Premiership!

It's one of the first coherent arguments in favour of relegation I have heard :P
