joey_big_nose Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 what has happened to Andy Van Der Meyde? is he still with the team, or has he left? Good question! In terms of Sam's priorities, in order, I would say:- 1) Dunn's new deal 2) Extending Di Santo's loan (or even signing him!) 3) New Hoilett deal 4) Left winger/Pedersen sale (one linked to the other) 5) New McCarthy deal 6) Left back 7) New central midfielder Lots going on there.... plus these youngsters as well which makes things interesting...

Do we not have faith in Givet at LB? Chimbonda also does a cracking job as cover. I'm not sure how we could keep another decent left back happy at the club. Our back line of Givet Nelson & Chimbonda/Jacobsen is a good back four. With Olssen, Jones, Gunning & Salgado with Zurab out on loan as cover and Bert more than capable of helping out at the back I'm not sure it's much of a priority when you look at our commercial restraints. I'm sure the McCarthy saga is well under control.

nicko Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 what has happened to Andy Van Der Meyde? is he still with the team, or has he left? He is 'between engagements.' Not quite fit enough and yet to find a club.
Mozzer Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 i dont think we could go wrong for a cheap james beattie i personally think he will give us all if he played for us , and sam allardyce did look at him before he went stoke .. is there any talk on who could be leaving ?? maybe keith andrews could bring in a good 2 million
Eddie Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Just a bit of information on Amine Linganzi Koumba. He's "Algerian". He was born there, but only lived there until he was 5. His family is originally from the Congo, but he's lived most of his life in France. He has a French passport, so there would be no work permit issues. I've never seen him play, but most of what I've read about him seems to class him as a defensive midfielder. St Etienne are good at developing young players though, so it's a good club to have come through (he's won the French youth championship). He played for them quite a bit in the lower division, but has struggled to get into their side this season. Sounds like a good prospect.
Hughesy Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Apparently we had a scout at Hamilton watching James McArthur last weekend........ Nicko you heard anything on this one?!
nicko Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Nicko you heard anything on this one?! I think they just went to the game for the fight...nothing worth signing up there unless you are Frank Warren
PAFELL Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I hope Rovers steer clear of RvN and Beattie. The Algerian sounds promising. Totally agree with Nicko re Di Santo. If we can nab him, probably won't happen this season but Di Santo/Kalinic up front could become very tasty indeed as a strike force. Cannot argue with your post - but would also want bentley back to replace diouf. Rovers would be strengthened attack wise if he came back. Both Di Santo and Kalinic would benefit as well.
tcj_jones Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Di Santo/Kalinic up front could become very tasty indeed as a strike force. I'm not sure I agree with this bit. Firstly, I have huge reservations over their compsure / finishing ability with both missing a number of extremely good chances. Secondly, they're both relatively similar players and, while I'd like to see them both remain on the books, I'd say we need a pacier player to play off them - somebody like Bellamny or Pongolle.
alexanders Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Nicko do you know which players are supposed to be on January sale at Fenerbache after the sex-scandal?
Silencio Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I think Nicko is right. We should be trying to buy Di Santo if he wants to be here. The goals will come and it's clear he will be a good investment. I think Kalinic has more goals in him though. Sell Roberts and keep Benni with Di Santo and Kalinic.
Commondore Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Without a new owner Newcastle should still be up for plundering in January. Jonas Gutierrez for left-wing? I can't imagine him costing more than the reported 3 million for the Bosnian left winger reported about on here earlier.
JAL Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Its a thoroughly depressing back page of the Telewag today, the main story says, 'Rovers to ponder Beattie move', then they add to this insult above it with a story headline 'Andrews out to end away day woe' Can it get any worse or is the LT having one big laugh at our expense ?.
nicko Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Fener players organize 'sex marathons'. Does this explain their interest in John Carew? Or why the big man wants to go there?
Steve Moss Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 Rovers allegedly interested in Paul Baysse. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_5765629,00.html
Steve Moss Posted December 12, 2009 Author Posted December 12, 2009 And Colin Kazim-Richards (being let go due to his Turkish sex marathons). http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Sunderland-Hull-and-Blackburn-in-chase-for-Fenerbahce-star-article253009.html
alexanders Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 3 club rule maybe, but I would like to take a better look at Kazim Kazim. ONe guy who I think hasnt reached his fully potential yet. One thing is for certain - he has bags of pace.
Bobby G Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 He is lower Premier League player at best. Never believed why Fener signed him or Turkey played him.
The Rover of Finland Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Kazim-Richards is avarage. Never looked like PL player at ShefU. He didn´t look any better at Turkey international. He wouldn´t make Rovers any better.
Tom 1 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Does this explain their interest in John Carew? Or why the big man wants to go there? They are most welcome to him, am sure you know who the replacement target is, he'll replace him fine enough if we get him
The Rover of Finland Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Wasn´t Paul Baysse on trial once? I think it was Sparky who invited him but it could have been Ince too.
