Anybody remember when Spurs were reportedly ready to pay upwards of £7m for Pedersen? If only we'd have taken it. INstead, we've had four seasons of dross and are about to let him go for nothing.

True tcj. Just a good job we didn't miss that boat with Shearer, Sutton, Sherwood, Le saux, Berg etc etc eh? They'd all have gone for nowt by now wouldn't they? :)

Beat me to it Hughesy. I've been a fan of Ivan Klasnic for a long time, since his days at Werder Bremen. He's just an out and out goal scorer, which is what we've been crying out for. I was disappointed that we didn't make a move for him in the summer. I suppose that there were question marks about whether he could do it in the Premiership, but with the 6 league goals already, I think he's shown that he can. And at £1.4 million, it's a bargain.

Id Megson isnt prepared to pay £1.4m for him then we should....Megson should be sacked if he doesnt!

£1.4m and already on 6 league goals..cant be all that bad!

kidney failure in 2007, rejected the 1st transplant, took the 2nd one and eventually got back to playing footy.

His goal scoring record isnt the worst usually around 1 goal every 3 games.....which is much better than Roberts im sure!

Is he any good with the ball delivered to his nose at 200 mph?

I'm told he is quite adaptable in a couple of midfield roles. But if there is any update on where he last played in France it would be a help.

With Emerton injured, Dunny and Grella sometimes fragile and Diouf being Diouf then any midfield assistance would help.

You could do with buying one.

What chance Kevin Nolan ?

just saw this interesting tidbit:

(its a few paragraphs down on the link)

As Houston Dynamo fans (and for that matter, U.S. national team fans) await word on where Stuart Holden will go next, a new club has emerged as a potential suitor. Sources tell me that English Premier League club Blackburn is expressing interest in Holden, who will head into the January transfer window a free agent. Blackburn is currently sitting in 12th place in the EPL but could be losing left winger Morten Gamst Pederson to Scottish club Celtic. While Holden isn't a natural left winger, his versatility and status as a free transfer could make him an attractive option for Sam Allardyce's squad.

Not now. He seems to enjoy being a big fish in the Newcastle pool.

The Toon won't sell and he doesn't really want to move.

What about Alan Smith? We could do with a midfield enforcer who isn't permanently injured. Playmaker should be a priority, though. Our over-reliance on Dunn is scandalous.

It makes a change for Alan Smith NOT to be permanently injured. Another player who has found his level.

No point in bringing in new faces who are as suspect as the current lot.

If we can't get Nolan, what chance Scott Parker? Not withstanding his 'cockniness' and his preference for the holding role ie. clashing with N'zonzi, there must be a chance West ham might take the money and he would help us play football not that nonsense that passes for it at the moment.

Parker is terrific, but the price would be huge and they will not sell. Plus his wages are about £70,000-a-week.

Shame.

I think Holden would be a pretty good, and relatively inexpensive, bet. Fingers crossed.

Holden is actually a free agent I believe so his cost would only be wages, I'd love to have a yank back on rovers, and Holden is a good young player that could fit in with alot of the young guys we have brought in already. Come on Stewey come to Rovers!

Apparently a pay rise will keep him stateside?
