I stand by my statements. How he did in Scotland is not necessarily an indication of how he would have done or do here. That being said, I think he had maybe 1 good performance (in the CL) out of 8 appearances total. In his defense he's been sick for a large portion of his Scottish experience, but this failure is probably more to do with immaturity and a bad attitude than anything else, which is the one thing Eddie and I agreed on about him. Bottom line, he can flat out pass the ball, which is something we're still desperately looking to add to our midfield.

He hasn't cut it in Scotland because he's crap. He has no pace, he has no work ethic and his passing is overrated. As I said, a very poor man's Beckham...a very, very poor man's Beckham. If you can't do it north of the border you can't do it in the premier league. You should count yourself lucky that he saved you some money.

I'm sorry but I think that is nonsense.

He's done badly in Scotland because he is rubbish, it's not as if he's had a walk over manager who wouldn't be capable of keeping him in line.

You're entitled to your opinion shill, but 8 games isn't enough to make a call on something like that & you know it, unless we're including a certain Souey signing in the discussion.

.....You should count yourself lucky that he saved you some money.

Thanks for that Tugs. :D

I must say: It takes some serious effort to rate below someone who has turned out to be a real lightweight (Beasley). It's a shame really, in both their cases. All that talent, but not enough work ethic too much of the time.

Eddie 'masterscout' also didn't think n'zonzi would be good enough for the prem i I remember rightly so it's horses for courses really.

You just never know, unless you give them a chance. We have given Nzonzi a chance, and he has grabbed it with both feet lol.

There was rumour on the ground that Diouf had flown out of the country before todays game.

Was he at Ewood today or not can anyone confirm?

He was on the substitute bench and was most definitely at Ewood Park.

Where on earth do they get their information from?

Like we've just found £10m down the back of the sofa...

I can't believe it. I wouldn't mind if it were true (i.e. please be true, Santa :xmas: ), but where would the money come from? Our only sources are: 1) a lot of players going off the wage bill and John Williams thinks we can finance 10 million over a few years; or, 2) the Walker family is kicking in the money (which would not necessarily be a bad investment, if only to avoid the expense associated with a relegatioon fight and/or relegation). Also Saldado seems the type that we'd need a midfielder or two to grease the gears of the goal scoring machine. 10 million might be better spent on 2-3 of midfielders, and let Kalinic and Di Santo take advantage of the improved service.

Edit: A third possibility is selling a top player or two. The only one that would generate those kind of funds would be Samba. Now I'm paranoid.

I'm a big fan of Soldado and would love it if we bought him, but I don't see it happening!

I think we need midfielders for depth, but in my opinion Hoilett, Dunn, Emerton, Grella and N'zonzi deserve to be in the first team, so that's really our midfield four or five already settled. The problem is when 1 or more of those players are injured or unavailable.
