Stuart Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I doubt the Mags would. I wonder whats the situation with Zurab and Newcastle? He's back with us I think so does that mean he didn't impress? I seem to remember him being injured?

JAL Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Wilshire on loan would be excellent business, shame it looks like he might go to the dingles. Disagree Ricky, a weak overated young englishman. The player Rovers should go for if Arsenal were after loaning him out is Aaron Ramsey rather than Wilshere. Ramsey is far more advanced at this moment in time than Wilshere. I see Stoke and Pullis are nosing around Carroll at NUFC. I guess Pulis has pulled up the dsrawbridge on Beattie. Carrolls a bad boy that prob needs to get away from his home town to realise his potential. I've only seen him play once but if his performance against us was typical and he's cheap enough he'd be OK for us and a Sam type player to boot. He looked a big lumbering donkey when he played against us last season Theno, i'm suprised you've brought him up as he had championship player written all over him.
tcj_jones Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Ramsey is probably the most exciting young prospect in the Premier League for me right now. He is clearly being groomed as Fabregas's replacement. Unfortunately, he is very much a part of the first team squad at Arsenal and they would never loan him out.
waggy Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Wilshire on loan would be excellent business, shame it looks like he might go to the dingles. wenger would never lend rovers him,he needs to be at a team that plays football
Amo Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 wenger would never lend rovers him,he needs to be at a team that plays football Eh? Didn't you post this no sooner than a few hours ago? i thought on saturday we played some good football, and the long ball was used very little, the reason samba was ill,if we have no money i would sacrifice samba and buy a centre forward who can score.
Torgeir Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Wilshire on loan would be excellent business, shame it looks like he might go to the dingles. I thought we could only loan one player from another PL club and we already have Di Santo on loan for the season...
waggy Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 i did post we played some good football but that is a rareity, like i said if samba was fit it would have been HOOFBALL/PERCENTAGE FOOTBALL/LONGBALL,wilshire will go to a footballing team ie fulham/west spam/dingles
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 i did post we played some good football but that is a rareity, like i said if samba was fit it would have been HOOFBALL/PERCENTAGE FOOTBALL/LONGBALL,wilshire will go to a footballing team ie fulham/west spam/dingles So when Samba is back fully fit we should permanently drop our best defender and up their with Dunny as our best player this season, so we can play a better style of football?
Iceman Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I watch him every week, home and away, and my views on him have nothing to do with him being an Ince signing. I'm just predjudiced against goalkeepers who can't command their area when crosses come in, who have difficulty with long range shots and who are continually beaten on their near post. Yes he is a good, instinctive shot stopper at close range. His kicking ability enables him to set up attacks. However, his basic goalkeeping skills leave much to be desired. When compared to former Rovers' keepers like Friedel, Flowers, Jones, Else, Arnold, Bradshaw etc. he looks pretty average. Yet he saved us a few times, from total humiliation. The Arsenal game springs to mind, and we cant go on blaming Robbo all the time. Our defence at times have been found wanting, and our midfield offers very little support to the backline. We always looking for somebody to blame, yet the support the players get from the fans are terrible at times. 1 moment you getting an autograph and pic taken, the next moment you laying into him. I have a soft spot for goalkeepers, and i know how pressurised that position is.

We didn't play hoofball at all. We passed it, very well.
MeanGreenMachine Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 All this talk of a Robbo replacement.... we have one on loan at Sheffield United who from what ive seen and what ive been told be ST holders is a top draw keeper. Id be quite happy for Bunn to have a chance to shine...
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Didn't you watch the game on sat? We didn't play hoofball at all. We passed it, very well. He is saying we did play decent football but that was largely because Samba was not playing...
Muddboy Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 All this talk of a Robbo replacement.... we have one on loan at Sheffield United who from what ive seen and what ive been told be ST holders is a top draw keeper. Id be quite happy for Bunn to have a chance to shine... I don't think we need to replace Robbo just yet but, if that changes, we have a very capable replacement in Bunn. I saw a lot of Bunn while he was at Northampton and he is an excellent all rounder. Okay, it's a completely different level to the Premier, but he's already proven that he can comfortably make the step up to keep goal for a top side in the championship, so why couldn't he do it in the Premier if required? The only 'criticism' that's been thrown at Bunn over the years is that he's perhaps not tall enough to make it at the top – he's only 6ft. But I don't necessarily agree with that one. It will be interesting to see whether Sam wants to get rid of Bunn in January because I'm sure Sheff Utd will try and buy him...
FourLaneBlue Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 This is ridiculous. Rovers fans are the ONLY ones giving Robinson a hard time. Everybody else is commenting how he must be in the England set up with his form being as good as it is. No they aren't. Stop making things up. "Everybody else" indeed. Some might be but many others think he is, at best, average. Many others most likely don't have a clue either way. Not sure where "everybody" comes from. So you are saying everybody else is wrong and you're right? Hang on...you incorrectly present an opinion as fact then pretend that "everybody else" agrees with you to help with your argument. Robinson is not particularly good in many areas of his play although he is generally reliable. However we have other areas that demand our more immediate attention.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 A new keeper is very low down on the list in terms of priority areas that need to be addressed. I'm happy enough with Robbo and with a decent midfield putting less pressure on the back four in front of him i think he could do an even better job. The number one priority is a winger, AMC or playmaker style MC. If we can bring a decent one of them in then i think it could transform our season and help us avoid a relegation battle. If we sell a striker like Roberts or Benni then we would need to look at bringing in a striker, but if we end up selling no one and we only have funds for one player it must be a winger, AMC or creative central midfielder.
Eddie Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 What were the reviews of Bunn when he was at Sheffield United? I saw him play for them and he looked good.

I've spoken to people who watch Robbo day in day out and they say he has improved considerably. Would the press, pundits and a considerable number of fans all be wrong and a couple of people be right? Go on say they would...
Stuart Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Oh dear, oh dear. Where on earth would we be able to muster £10 million to buy Saldado?? Even if McCarthy did go to Fulham...
FourLaneBlue Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Hang on yourself. I've spoken to people who watch Robbo day in day out and they say he has improved considerably. Prove that "Everybody else is commenting how he must be in the England set up" and your question would be worthier of answering.
CrazyIvan Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Non sequitur. Prove that "Everybody else is commenting how he must be in the England set up" and your question would be worthier of answering. And how, exactly, am I supposed to do that on a forum?
FourLaneBlue Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 And therein lies the flaw in your argument by using "everybody else" to back you up. Anyway, whatever...I agree that Robinson is a capable enough keeper although he does have weaknesses...we were spoiled somewhat by having Brad in his pomp. We have areas in far greater need of change. Attacking central midfielder is the priority.

The argument stands on it's own merits based off the fact that you can go and ask Rovers fans themselves.
92er Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Allardyce has set a target for the next 2 games for the players to get 4 points.
