I thought Tosic was a decent player, but not on the level of Man Utd.

As I've mentioned on here before I have a lot of family from Salford who are all United supporters and a couple of them watch the reserve and youth teams religiously. From what they've told me, Tosic although he has improved both his physique and one touch play since arriving is no better than quite a few of the other reserves, he's not a bad player but they don't think he's got enough to his game to make it there. He'd probably be a success in Spain.

I don't read this thread but my newspaper says we are interested in Guti from Real Madrid. After a quick Google I discover this is another 33 year old midfielder. I know the Spanish economy is in bits but come on Sam...................

Guti is not so highly rated in Spain.

He is affectionately known by Barca fans as "Maricon". You can figure it out by a little search.

I was surprised how he made himself a mainstay of so many Real teams over the years, but I can see him a success in England, but at 33, I really dont know.

He'd be a shocking signing along with Beattie !

ST ETIENNE LAD...due to sign, been over twice, all seems good, down to money men to sort out a [cheap] deal.

GUTI...available, but likely to go elsewhere.

HOLDEN...the same.

BENNI...Porto want him, but would like to take him on loan.

ROBERTS...on Middlesbrough wish list of strikers, along with many others.

HUTTON...sorry, I don't think so.

Not exactly targets but just a few players I'd like to see us go after in the area we need to strengthen the most.

Defence

Armand Traore - Arsenal's 3rd choice left-back but would walk into our teams at either left-back or left-midfield. Depends upon whether Clicky and Gibbs get back fit before the end of January. But worth a loan bid in my opinion.

Gareth Bale - Rarely gets a look in at Tottenham with the good form of Assou-Ekotto. Again another loan option who may be looking for first-team football. Again would eaisly walk into our first team at LB or LM.

Midfielder

Mark Noble - West Ham have great financial difficulties at the moment and will be looking to cash in on their rpized assets. Whilst Upson, Parket and Carlton Cole are regarded as their key players. I think Noble would be terrific signing, probably won't come cheap but if we can sell of some of our other unwanted players we could fund a deal.

David Bentley - A tremendous talent who's rotting away in the Tottenham reserves. You'd think he'd jump at the opportunity to get first team football somewhere. Can't see any of the top teams wanting him and surely he would favour a return to Ewood over another similiar Premiership club.

Adam Johnson - Young 'Boro winger would probably demand a biggish fee but he's just the sort of attacking winder we lack.

Damien Duff - Probably a bit of a long-shot but didn't I hear that Woy was after Andrews. Some sort of part-exchange deal please!

I can't see Wenger allowing any of his players coming to Ewood, more likely they'd go to what are percieved as " footballing " teams. He probably knows how to lauch the ball 3/4 the length of the pitch already.

Bale ? Good attacking player but can't defend to save his life, is he better than Pedersen - definitely. Swap loan deal would be interesting.

When Noble becomes available there'll be a rush, Good player whose extremely unlikely to have to move to Ewood. Bigger, better teams would be in.

If Bentley had any brains he'd be looking for this sort of move, so that's out then.

Johnson, exactly the same situation as Noble, loads of clubs would be in, we've no chance.

Duff, why would he leave a relative successful footballing club where he seems to have got his career back on track to come to struggling Rovers ?

How's the Ferrari Father Christmas brought you by the way ?

Nicko,

What do you think will happen in January?

Is Big Sam just saying there won't be any business in order to not give anything away?

What are the chances of Benni, Pedersen anbd Roberts leaving and is there any hope of signing di Santo on a permenant in January rather than a loan?

Is Linganzi seen as a first teamer straight away?

Whats the latest on Merium, Beattie and the Bosnian?

Sorry about all the questions i've just not looked on here recently.

That looks encouraging- a bit of midfield strengthening, nobody offering cash for Benni and a glimmer of hope that Roberts will move on. Boro need the physical presence he would bring.

Holden has too many mixed reviews for my liking, Guti's wages thankfully a no-no and the Hutton links really are nonsense (cue little elves writing that one down).

And nothing on Meriem interestingly enough.

Meriem is due back - again - shortly. However St.Etienne are also keen on him.

Linganzi was born in Algerian but his dad was from the Congo and worked there as the ambassador. He has played for France at u-21 level but Algeria want him for the World Cup.

On Benni, Roberts or MGP - I think somebody will have to leave to finance any serious moves for arrivals.

Beattie would still be a live one in my book if either Benni or Roberts left. If MGP goes then Belhadj becomes a possible - because Pompey are in deep do-do.

Guti would be awesome, where do you think he will end up?

If Gordon Strachan rates Roberts and wants him, then they can have him for Johnson!! Seriously though would he drop down or sit on his contract?

Holdens not coming then?

I sense a return of the 11 o'clocker.

Got to go until then...

Must admit I find the Belhadj of Pompey an intersting one, along with the French /Algerian, but after seeing Nzogbia for the second time for me he'd be an ideal replacement for Diouf or MGP.

The worrying thing about nickos post are, he doesnt mention offloading Andrews or Diouf which has to be the first priority for Rovers in order to progress.

Oh yes....The return of the 11 o clocker !! Nice one Nicko.

Its that time again where we all lose our marbles & try and decide what will happen before 31st Jan !!!

Or more realisticaly what will happen before 11 o clock every night !!!

On a more serious note ... Roberts to Middlesboro !!! One chairman & one manager who have no control when spending money....We could make a serious killing here !!!!

Roll on 11 bells !!

admins, make new users after december 25th pay a membership fee PLEASE :brfcsmilie:

Lmao. I think bloody anybody who registers by 31st December, should only be allowed on February 1st. Nicko what have you done! Lol. I get the feeling that Sam, has more confidence in Benni now. He will certainly start against Sunderland. Roberts need to go, and that swap deal involving Beattie id take.
