Sandiway Blue Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 He is a wayward winger and would cost upwards of £4 million plus- do we have that money? Why upwards of £4m plus? at best he is only worth around £2m.Anyway it was meant as tongue-in-cheek hence the smiley....
Hughesy Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 so thats a bit more money wasted on a player who'd struggle to score in a brothel...1 goal all season says it all ! So would you with that negative attitude! He scored 1 goal - but it was against the dingles.......He will come good - just give him time
budha Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Toni's loan deal to Roma has been confirmed by FC Bayern, so that deluded discussion can be closed.
imy9 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Why upwards of £4m plus? at best he is only worth around £2m.Anyway it was meant as tongue-in-cheek hence the smiley.... Sorry quoted the wrong message! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wigan_athletic/7861549.stm He moved for £6 million and has played well so cant imagine Wigan wanting to let him leave on the cheap.
Sandiway Blue Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 So would you with that negative attitude! He scored 1 goal - but it was against the dingles.......He will come good - just give him time Indeed, also we have to take into account he is only 20 years old and this is his first PROPER season playing first team football. If Chelsea will sell him for a decent price i would take him in an instant.
Iceman Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 so thats a bit more money wasted on a player who'd struggle to score in a brothel...1 goal all season says it all ! 1 against the Dingles, which is like 20 for the season. Legend!
Hughesy Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 1 against the Dingles, which is like 20 for the season. Legend! Spot on - Instant legend status - he works hard for the team too and thats what we like to see, he will come good, you will see!
JAL Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Sorry quoted the wrong message! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/wigan_athletic/7861549.stm He moved for £6 million and has played well so cant imagine Wigan wanting to let him leave on the cheap. NZogbia going would be a massive blow for Wigan. Wigan need a decent right winger to balance up their attack not lose their only decent left sided one.
rovers1995 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Nicko, any truth in Sky's story that Rovers have made an enquiry for Kevin Prince Boateng at Portsmouth. Fantastic move if true

47er Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Easy to say now but if we'd signed Klasnic with a set fee for next season if it worked out, Di Santo on loan and 2 youngish and definately fit mid-fielders for 3M each, we would be flying now.Oh--and no Salgado would have left us money for 2 loan options in January if needed and selling Andrews to Fulham for anything we could get to Fulham would have given us even more options. . I've defended Sam a lot and still want him to have the time to build us up but that would have been the better way to go.

Backroom Tom Posted January 1, 2010 Backroom Posted January 1, 2010 I mentioned KP Boetang in summer and got laughed at, I think he's a good player and would certainly offer us more in midfield than what we have
cn174 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Spot on - Instant legend status - he works hard for the team too and thats what we like to see, he will come good, you will see! Really? Marcus Bent scored against Burnley, he hardly has legend status around here does he. I think he is an ok player but he doesn't score enough goals. Hopefully this will change, but now he looks like he could play forever and never score another goal.
Steve Moss Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 Looks like Stuart Holden is going on trial to Burnley. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/local/091231-holden-english-team And Reid is supposedly going on loan to Cardif City. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/cardiff-city-fc/2009/12/31/bluebirds-set-up-deal-for-midfielder-steven-reid-91466-25499046/
Stuart Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Looks like Stuart Holden is going on trial to Burnley. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/local/091231-holden-english-team I wonder if Nicko had a word in Coyle's ear? Can't wait until he leaves Burnley.
John Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 We have got an interest in Stuart Holden, interesting to see where he ends up....
dingles staying down 4ever Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Probably too expensive for Rovers but could be available http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2790103/Ledley-will-quit-Cardiff.html and may have a rival for Beattie http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/sport/football/article-1239779/Aston-Villa-offer-James-Beattie-way-Stoke-2-5m-deal.html

nicko Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I wonder if Nicko had a word in Coyle's ear? Happy New Year... Owen had him lined up a month ago. That was why I was shocked at the Rovers link. He was never going to go to Burnley for a few weeks in the hope of a deal if Rovers had offered him a four-year contract. Still no idea if he is any good. But he sounds like a good type. And a Scot at the World Cup finals against England? Just made my summer.
