Do we want shut of the lad ??????

Why if he is under contract or whatever he has with our academy would we allow him to go and trial for another team.

Is he not tied to the academy until we decide otherwise?.

Pretty sure he is too old for Academy now and so plays in the reserves, started as a striker but mainly used on the wings this season allowing Rigters and Santa Cruz to play up front, think it says it all really.

I would get him on a long contract quickly at Rovers, If Kenny is involved, he is the best talent spotter in the world and if he thinks the lads good, he is good!!

Never thought I'd see the day when someone would say that if an MLS expansion team is in for one of our players, he must be good enough to keep!

A new name for me.

And before everyone started calling me an idiot. Yes, I know it is tribalfootball and yes I know it is the 3-club rule.

Andewele Slory

It was mentioned a couple of days back. A contributor on here familiar with Feyenood said he was rubbish. However his Wiki entry is reasonably encouraging - a standout season that lead to a couple of caps and then a malaise. Doing okay this year (3 goals). Right winger.

Wiki

However does seem to have a history of injuries....

Apparently Dave Jones (Cardiff) was at the Villa game to watch Steven Reid....perhaps thats the reason he played??

Would certainly be an odd way of doing this though, cup tieing him just so a manager of a club still in the competition can watch him. Depends how bothered Cardiff are about the cup I guess, with a good chance of being in the 5th Round though it may make a slight change, lower league clubs still seem to care somewhat about it.

Avram Grant hopes the transfer ban on Portsmouth dissapears so that he can sign up some players in January.

Are they skint or are they not?

I'll be amazed if they spend much money though they are likely to offload quite a few players to pay off debts, whether they can replace them or not who knows. They are struggling to pay the player's wages, i think that tells you they don't have much money.

I would imagine promotion is much higher in their thoughts than the FA Cup.

Premier league have confirmed that Kevin Prince Boateng can't play for another PL club this season, having played one game for Spurs. - Radio Lancs.

Double good news- we don't get a moody dud (most of the time) and Pompey are deeper in the mire.

If Pompey raise £6m CASH from sales (and remember normal transfer contracts are 25% down and their players earn daft wages), then they will clear their remaining football and imminent tax debt and the transfer ban will be lifted. Or they might get a new Saudi loan... again.

Some of the U.S. blogs (Big football, IIRC) have been talking about this for awhile. Like Hoilett, Atiba Hutchinson is a midfielder who can also play as a striker (or vice-versa in Hoilett's case).

At this point, I would be happy to gamble on Hutchinson, Holden, or any of the other names floated on this board, if it meant getting rid of some of our existing midfielders (MGP, EHD, Reid, Andrews). Its not as if the Rovers midfield would get any worse, so selling and making some purchases seems to me to be a no brainer. Then again, that thought is likely motivated by some frustration.

When he (Hutchinson) played for Helsingborg in Sweden he was definitely more of an all-action type central midfielder, he looked destined for bigger things when he moved to Copenhagen but seems to have stagnated there. Then again, they get into Europe (both Champions League and Europa League) on a regular basis and has the cash to match most other European leagues in both transfer fees and wages, so I guess I can understand if he was in no big hurry to leave them. I'd take him if he's available, should be a step up from almost all of our central midfielders.

Sweet. All midfielders too (though Linganzi can double as a striker). And Olivieras is 21 and Linganzi 20, which further contributes to reducing the club's average age.

Someone can't count - it only mentions two players.. Stanislas Oliveira and Camel Meriem.. s'funny but I thought two was a double, not a treble - Nicko hasn't been at the cooking sherry again has he, after wrapping up another Coyley Coup...!

You need to read the article again. ;) Sam's near closing the deal with Linganzi is buried in the text.
