[Archived] Sam's January Targets

Perhaps we have some funds left over from the Summer but need to shift more of the wage bill to allow us to add a player. I would hope that is the case. It should be considering how much we have brought in from sales over the last 2 years...

It would be nice but I don't see it.

If we do I hope it gets spent on players we actually need.

This keeps coming up smoss. I also thought it was one.

Birmingham have Joe Hart on loan from City and Tainio on loan from Sunderland.

It is definitely two, always has been. Can't have two players from the same club though, which I guess is where the confusion has come from.

Right. I'm going to lay the bait to get Nicko back on here.

LET coming out with a 'new' one here - Rovers to sign Linganzi:

Linganzi

Strange signing for Rovers if he is not expected to have any impact this season. Surely it is now that we need players to have an impact.

I noticed the comment about home grown players - I suppose Sam will now be having to off load to get in some home grown players as replacements.

A glimmer is that much the same was said about NZonzi and he came straight in. However also the same was said about Van Heerden and he has played a couple of games and thats it...

Nicko might be able to tell us what the coaching assessment is. In central midfield you have to say - when Grella and Dunn are out as they frequently are - the bar is not that high in order to get in the team.

As for home grown players - we look like we are really going to struggle here. Have we been linked to any players who qualify under the new rules?

Anyone called Stuart Holden should definitely qualify!

He's currently in hiding after the events of the last few days !!!!!

I've been working, thanks.

Getting stories as usual.

And when the Burnley thing is over one or two home truths will be coming out about how the club have handled this.

The last I think was the LB at Boro, one I would be happy with on loan with an option to buy would be O'Hara, back at Spuds possible soon and little or no chance of a game. English and 23. Watched him a number of times this season and is defo better than most of what we have.

Couple of newsy bits.

Linganzi...we know about.

Meriem...here but unable to train too much...who would be a trialist?

Beattie...still an option.

Benni...who's buying.

Roberts...ditto.

MGP...what's the Norwegian for 'ditto'?

Not on topic Iceman!!!

anyway, the bottom of the LT says that we might no longer go after Meriem, because of the home grown rule? However, would that matter if we sold a couple of our other midfielders ie Diouf and Pedersen?

"Likeså" would be an adequate work for I belive :)

Im hoping we will keep Morten and somehow manage to fool somebody into buying EHD.

MGP freekicks and corners are important and I for one feels he has a lot more qualities than EHD. Not that it says much.

sounds interesting Nicko - reading between the lines does that mean they could have kept OC if they had been flexible enough and have therefore shot themselves in the foot ?

On paper or in the media it appears everything has been handled 'decently' by both sides. Is there a'twist' in the saga.

Anyway good to have you posting again.

Did not Porto express an interest in Bennie?
