Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 For obvious reasons the Coyle stuff has to be tied up before Nicko can reveal anything. It's all good though.

Iceman Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Not on topic Iceman!!! sorry Modes... harsh, but fair enough. i mentioned O' Hara, when i heard Ivorian Journalists discussing the possibilty that Dindane might interest us. They mentioned that apart from Dindane, we also looking at Belhadj and O' Hara.
ewoodnews Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Skysports have said that Mido might be on his way back to england. Rovers have been linked with him before so would you sign him????? 9.34 Well-travelled striker Mido could be set for a move back to England this month, skysports.com understands.
alexanders Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Nicko - do you know anything about O'haras future? Is he suppose to rot on Spurs bench or are there any interests? Reading an article about the guy he really wants to play whether it is Pompey or another club. He just doesn't want to sit on the bench at Spurs and I can understand him. The fact that he is an ex-spurs makes me think he really is worth a shot.

Hmm, initial response is 'god no' but after a little thought, he'd be better than JR.
T4E Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Hmm, initial response is 'god no' but after a little thought, he'd be better than JR. Not to mention fatter than BM.
modes98 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Can we keep the Owen Coyle talk to the Bolton manager thread and keep this for transfer target discussion. Thanks.
S15 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Not to mention fatter than BM. Then it's sorted, sell the @#/? striker and the fat striker for £3-4m between them and replace them with a @#/? fat striker and spend the money on a couple of @#/? midfielders.
joey_big_nose Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Hmm, initial response is 'god no' but after a little thought, he'd be better than JR. Sort of player I could see us looking at. Wonder if it could be a straight swap for Roberts? I am sure, if Boro are intereseted in Jason, they would have suggested it. Huge attitude problem, more than likely very unfit (has he played much for Zamalek?) but in the financial situation we are in we could well end up desperate - and undoubtably Mido is very talented and only 26. Something to look at.

So he faces a life in the Spurs fringes for the rest of the season. Aren't these daft FIFA rules great?

What about this then? : O'hara set for another loan spell Are you sure he has played for Tottenham this season?
T4E Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 What about this then? : O'hara set for another loan spell Are you sure he has played for Tottenham this season? He played the first 3 games of Spurs season.
EwoodGlory Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Yes he's played 2 or 3 games for Spurs this season.
Bobby G Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Mido is 26. He is enjoying life in Egypt. He was in Dubai a few weeks ago, smoking some "shisha" with his dad and pals. Doesnt look like someone who is too keen to make it back to top level football in Europe.
Craigman Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Spurs Squad sheet for the current season Yes he has played for Spurs according to their website
Ricky Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Are you sure the FIFA rule applies for loan deals as well? I didn't think he could sign for 3 teams, surely he could be loaned out to a different team.
Bobby G Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I dont think so, Ricky. Although it could be a loophole waiting to be exploited.

RoverRich Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Are you sure the FIFA rule applies for loan deals as well? I didn't think he could sign for 3 teams, surely he could be loaned out to a different team. I thought the same. I didn't think the rule applied for loan deals but I may be wrong.
nicko Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Are you sure the FIFA rule applies for loan deals as well? I didn't think he could sign for 3 teams, surely he could be loaned out to a different team. It's a rule that the Premier League adhere to, but the Football League doesn't. Players can be loaned to the Football League as often as they want. You may remember the case of Amdy Faye and yourselves. There could be a case if you plead 'special circumstances' because of Pompey being unabkle to take him. But, techincally speakking, his loan there only lasted until January anyway. Farcical, but true.
nicko Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 THERE'S A PRETTY INTERESTING MOVE ABOUT TO HAPPEN ELSEWHERE THAT WILL POSSIBLY SPARK FOUR OR FIVE MOVES...INCLUDING ONE AFFECTING YOURSELVES. 11 O'CLOCK IT IS THEN.

Is it time for the regular 11 o`clock slot to become fully employed again Nicko ? I enjoy reading them during the transfer windows and seen as we could do with fresh blood in our team especially, i`m keen to know who may be going out and coming in ! Cheers Nicko
PAFELL Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 THERE'S A PRETTY INTERESTING MOVE ABOUT TO HAPPEN ELSEWHERE THAT WILL POSSIBLY SPARK FOUR OR FIVE MOVES...INCLUDING ONE AFFECTING YOURSELVES. Is this transfer in or is it a transfer out involving Rovers. You said something about the burnley situation and home truths - the home truths part is anything to do with Rovers is it? 11 O'CLOCK IT IS THEN.
mellison24 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Well spotted PAFELL....and the many other members who also did.
