The Salgado bit of that story wound me up no end.

"Salgado enjoying life at Ewood Park"

I bet he is, sat there earning 40kp.w. for doing the square root of bugger all! Sheesh!

I would have expected that story to read:

"I have found real difficulty in coming to terms with the pace and physicality of the English game, and I apologise to the manager and the fans that they haven't seen the best of me but I have been making a real effort to get myself fitter and hope to show everyone what I am really capable of in the second half of the season and the rest of my time here."

That must be one of the most upbeat, positive stories to have come out of Ewood from a player in along while Rev. After witnessing Chimbondas defensive performances over the christamas period, i'd think Salgado NOW has a very good chance of starting in his favoured right back position.

Can we really blame the owners if, the players budget has a completly skewed look at about it at this moment in time.

Ricky said: Cardiff are in financial difficulty, do you really think they'd match his wages or he'd even be interested in dropping down a league.. Reality check needed!!!!

Hi all,

please don't tell me we are paying big wages for this steamping pile of cr@p good god what has become of our club it sounds like an earlier article when the move to Olympiacos failed because he did not fancy it someone needs to get through to Pederson he has been absolute s***e for years now it should be down to us where he goes because for the money he gets for doing precisely nothing he is getting away with daylight robbery

There won't be an 11 o'clocker tonight...but the Mirror website might be worth a look.

A player about to be signed [no street parties need be arranged].

And some tales of players of interest.

A lot of Bolton stuff, funnlily enough.

Anyone watch football Saturday yesterday, all the pundits, all top ex pros extolling the virtues of Kevin Davies, have got to say I do agree with them, if we had him here we would have won three more games at least!!

However, I cant see Coyle selling him!!

Next best option?

We can speculate forever on who we may sign but like so many clubs in the prem now, money is tight, even at Man U and Liverpool, we will have to wheel and deal if we do business and I think thats what Sam will do!!

Its only a short 'Window' so we will know pretty soon whats happening!!

yeah soon the wait will be over......shame we missed out on kranjar for that bargain price in the last one

We wouldnt have got him for that. Pompey and Spurs made loads of deals together, one of which was Krancjar to Spurs for £2m or whatever it was. The fact that Pompey then immediately received Boateng/O'Hara/Kaboul etc shouldnt be forgotten

When stuck between a rock and a hard place the old wide eyes and quivering lip ploy is often good for damage limitation.

Chin up lad.

I doubt there has been a dry eye at the Turf recently. A lot of quivering lips, and a fair amount of tantrums of course. But you'll come through it, just pull yourself together and I am sure relegation won't be too bitter a pill in the context of really how awful the last 25 years have been for you lot generally. Broadly speaking you could look at the last two weeks as a high point in the future as at least there is some hope now, sure to be crushingly extinguished in the months and years to come.

Enjoy it while you can, that is what I say.

Any signing in midifled works for me, looking forward to seeing this guy, im sure the names of santa cruz or samba didnt exactly keep people awake at night when we first signed them, the fact that he had a trial got injured and came back yet again to try and prove his worth shows he has some fight at very least.

Good shout... From what I've read on the web, he seems like a half decent player... here's to hoping he turns out to be a gem!!!

By the way, I don't think Santa Cruz is a good example of an unknown, or un-exciting signing. I was having sleepless nights when I found out we were going to sign him. When he joined Beyern, he was tipped to be the next "worldclass" South American striker, unfortunately for him things never worked out there, but he was a massive signing for me when we got him, I totally agree about Chris Samba though!!!
