Three goals, one ruled out goal, one goal that was his for a moment then cruely snatched away and various near misses. . . .

What's that worth in regular money then?

3.437903215 goals?

It's not like he's scored 3, plus had 7 disallowed, 3 taken away by dubious goals panel and hit the woodwork 7 times.

He's scored 3. fin.

:rover: well i know joe garner, when he left rovers he was offered double the money to join dundee utd than carlilse, which one did he join :brfcsmilie:

Well I wasn't saying players always choose the more immediate pay packet, just that they do tend to follow the eventual money trail. I'd expect Garner fancied his chances of hitting the big time more with Carlisle, because Championship clubs will scout League One, than the SPL where nigh upon nobody bothers to look in comparison, (and if he did then he was right, as he soon earned a move to Notts Forest for presumably more money). Perhaps combined with a lack of desire to move north of the border. I'm not saying there are never other circumstances which push a decision one way or another, but all footballers are interested in money. Doesn't mean it is all that all of them are in. I wasn't commenting on Moses' particular situation either, although I'd expect since City have a higher profile (often one of those big factors other than money) and that 25k theoretical wage difference is a lot more money than whatever the difference was in Garner's move, I'd expect him to go there. But still worth a try, some do aim for a club where they will play more. Too few though.

I would apologise for going off topic, but we've just had over a page of inane twitter about Kalinic's goal record. Yes, he's only scored three goals. But when talking about how effective, how much potential he has etc, I don't see the harm in mentioning his extreme misfortune in having his legitimate goal against United, a top top side, chalked off. Unless he's cursed with bad luck, most such efforts will count in future. He is proving he is a threat, that's enough for me. Deserves game time.

Where was it officially given as Kalinic's goal? BBC & Rovers.co.uk have it down as Emerton's.

on the night it was given kalinic, or do you not remember everyone saying he could get a hat-trick?

How can he be loyal to the club when he's turned his back on it and stays away FFS.

Try supporting the club for 40yrs+ both home and away, that’s loyalty in anyone’s book.

He’s turned his back on Allardyce’s style of football, not the club. Change of manager he’ll be back, its called having principles and many feel the same way.

Gav it's sod all to do with Allardyce's style of play, it's down to a pathetic hatred of a man he's never met. It's personal from Waggy's side, you'd have thought in forty years he'd have seen all sorts of crap, and if you genuinely believe this is the worst he's seen, then that's your call, but I think most agree it's very petty and paints waggy as a very petty little man.

Surely any fans' principles is to support the club??? Waggy needs to sort his priorities. You know the phrase? Players, managers and even chairmen will change, but the fans will stay constant. Why can't waggy???? Not supporting the club means he isn't a supporter. Simple.

Rubbish, committing to a football team is a bit like committing to a marriage (or at least a marriage as it was 50 years ago, not in today's society!)

Stopping watching your team because of the style of football is like leaving your wife because she starts losing her looks. (I know this is going to cue loads of jokes, but try to take my point!)

If you are prepared to do that then I think it is entirely reasonable to question how much affection was there in the first place, be it football or your marriage.

You mention having principles? I suggest most of us have principles and we would all like to see Brazillian football every week, but most of us don't throw the toys out of the pram and stop going.

40 years of going home and away is all well and good, but it seems to me that the enthusiasm is waning, and Allardyce is just the excuse...

There are posters on here who list their locations as being within easy reach of Ewood Park, but have always been in front of their computers throughout every home game spouting on the match threads - even now when the STs are so cheap! Can't see anyone calling their loyalty, or questioning their support for BRFC??

Waggy will be back when Allardyce has gone. Fair play to him for having some principles.

I trust he also stayed away when we played a lot of long ball when we won the title too?

What are his principles?

I appreciate mates sticking up for each other, but in this case it doesn't wash, I mean, waggy hasn't even attended a game since he took charge, so how on earth can anyone suggest he gave him a chance?

It's nonsense.

I think Waggy objects to some of Sams potential dealings in the past as well.

As others have said it may be petty but his grudge isn't with Rovers but the man in charge.

He'll be a Rovers fan long after Sam has anything to do with the club I would imagine

He doesn't like the manager, bung rumours and style of football probably play a part, simple as that, can’t understand why you all find that so hard to understand.

I’ve never disliked a manager as much as I do the current one, feelings along the same lines as Waggy I guess. As I said previously, plenty feel the same way and this site is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, plenty in the real world feel the same way.

Anyway lets get back on topic, I’m right and you lot are wrong :D

Or cutting your nose to spite your face. However, you wish to call it. smile.gif

Maybe. Whatever.

But isn't that exactly what the likes of you and Shillito and Waggy's other critics are doing tonight, rather than vocally supporting your team in an easy to reach local derby, where the tickets are on the cheap side in the Premier League??

I know why I've chosen not to go - and it has nothing to do with temperature or cost rover.gif
