Guest Wen Y Hu Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Can anyone recommend a decent software for the the above. Running Tiger 10.4.11 Intel Duo. MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5 is the business and will allow you to download from YouTube and save any audio to AIFF or AAC format from which you can convert to mp3 in iTunes via the Advanced menu. http://www.squared5.com/ Download the latest beta (1.9.3b2), which has a fix for downloading from YouTube. (It's a beta, but pretty stable.) 1. Copy the URL of the page you want to download from YouTube 2. Open MPEG Streamclip 3. Go to File menu --> Open URL 4. Paste the above URL in the box, check the Download, Progressive download, and MP4 (or HD) radio buttons and then hit Open 5. Name the file appropriately 6. Go get a beer while the file downloads Once downloaded, you can just drop the file on the MPEG Streamclip window (or dock icon) to open it. If necessary, trim unwanted bits from the beginning and end using the In and Out markers and Trim command in the Edit menu, then save it again. The mp4 will be read by the QuickTime Player and also by iTunes, so you don't need any further software for playback. If you want to convert it to another video or audio format, use MPEG Streamclip's Export facility. Just let me know if you have any further questions or need help... Cheers PS Thought about upgrading to Snow Leopard, by the way?
