magicalmortensleftpeg Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Very interesting: Robinson Salgado, Samba, Nelsen, Chimbonda, Emerton,Nzonzi, Pedersen, Roberts, McCarthy, Kalinic. Going out all with a punch at least. Chelsea look strong. Joe Cole/Malouda/Deco/Zhirkov all start.

ABBEY Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Where's your commitment? Train from East Croydon to Gatwick, hop on a shuttle, hire a car at Manchester - sorted! No doubt there are a few Chelsea fans doing something similar - you might even have blagged a lift from Manchester! i have not got the money for that sort of commitment.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Good to see Kalinic and Benni with the start. Pedersen and Salgado are the weak links for me. Cole or Malouda could cause Salgado some serious problems.
PAFELL Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 i have not got the money for that sort of commitment. I don't think people realise how much it costs to get to Rovers from London - I am further away, near Hastings on the south coast - also the time it takes, especially mid week. The premier league don't. Is it little wonder that the carling cup is seen as a nothing cup - even though it gets you a place in Europe to the winners. A cup game played - quater final to boot - during mid week.
Backroom Tom Posted December 2, 2009 Backroom Posted December 2, 2009 Great team selection at least some get a chance
Bobby G Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Lets hope we create chances for them. Very very bold selection. I guess its a throw of the dice. First real game for Kalinic now.
Mr. E Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Damn, why didn't we play with that forward line vs Fulham and Stoke? We would have been at least 2-3 points better off. My only concern is Salgado's pace and Pedersen, who shows up once every 10 games to play a match. Hopefully it's today. Chelsea's team is ridiculous though. They rest many first team players, but still have Ballack, Deco, Malouda, Joe Cole etc. in their starting 11. How the hell are we supposed to compete with that. Also, could this be Benni's last start for the club?
alexanders Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Isnt Zhirkov a Rovers supporter? Can we hope for an own-goal? I have to say very exciting set-up today. Hoping Kalinic begs a goal or two!
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Kalinic is going to need chances created for him to put them away, he isn't the type of striker who will create something out of nothing. I hope people bear that in mind when they give their opinion of his performance after the game.
BRFC1995 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 hell fire that chelsea line up is ridiculous, and thats they're reserves! Creativity and pace all over the place, Nelsen and salgado must be having kittens
Mr. E Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Kalinic is going to need chances created for him to put them away, he isn't the type of striker who will create something out of nothing. I hope people bear that in mind when they give their opinion of his performance after the game. We have 3 strikers up front, and besides Dunn our midfield is as creative as it's going to get. We really won't be able to help him out much more than this.
Steve Moss Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I'm pretty excited about this. We've actually put out a fighting team.
mellison24 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Radio link of the game Is that Billy Davies? Just asking.
Mr. E Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Radio link of the game Only for UK users I think.
Commondore Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Only for UK users I think. Strange lineup. Perhaps Benni is playing behind Kalinic and Roberts while Gamst has the left wing, leaving the whole right hand corridor to Salgado?
alexanders Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALINIC GOAL! GRabbi my ass!
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Good to see Niko get the goal, huge confidence boost against a very decent team.
