Best wishes to all :xmas:

Having had our Christmas in Germany cancelled by Eurostar, we found out what Christmas is all about. We asked our kids to go to stay with their sister in Munich for us as there was no way all 5 of us were going to get there. They opted to come home with us and fly in their sister and nephew on Christmas day, saying the important thing was we were all 6 going to be together for Christmas for the first time in 10 years, plus they could have the little one here as well. So we've now restocked the larder and fridge and are hoping nothing stops Manchester airport from opening tomorrow so that by 6.30 we should all be together again. Have a great Christmas wherever you are.

Happy Christmas, everyone.

It's over hyped, too commercial, etc, etc, but it's essentially a magic time of year for me. Getting together with family, remembering those who are no longer with us but have made Christmas so special in the past. Phone calls, cards and messages from friends and family, church, nativity, choirs singing carols, frost and snow, dark nights, Christmas lights, robins. Boxing Day football.

LOVE IT!

Lovely Christmas at Chez Drog too but despite freeview it was the worst telly that I can ever remember! Is there a message or a link there possibly?

btw.... I never take much notice of whats on the box normally until there is nothing else to do and the pub is shut. Christmas in fact. Anyway there must be a reason for the dearth of entertainment........ are Sky monopolising the job so much now that they can starve out the rest possibly or are they all just rendered skint by the drop in advertising revenue and the number of channels?

Dreadful telly. I care little for the big evening movies on offer rather I always tend to enjoy those lightly entertaining ones on in the afternoon (Home Alone, Scrooged, Christmas Vacation etc). There's not been a sign of any of these so far.

I set the Freeview to record a few things on the BBC but we may not get round to watching them. TV wasn't on until 10.30pm when a couple of people collapsed in front of Katherine Tate - we turned it off after 10 minutes. We drank champagne, then ate and drank a little more, then played games so the telly wasn't needed.
