Bobby G Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Just that one change for us. Benni starts again. Good to see. Chance for Junior to show he is worth a place.

budha Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 The team against Liverpool minus Diouf deserves to get an another start. I was hoping that Pedersen would come on for Diouf, but positively surprised to see Hoilett there.
PAFELL Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 HULL CITY: Myhill, Dawson, Gardner ©, McShane. Fagan, Geovanni, Hunt, Garcia, Boateng, Marney, Zayatte. Subs: Duke (GK), Barmby, Altidore, Mendy, Kilbane, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Olofinjana. ROVERS: Robinson, Chimbonda, Samba, Nelsen ©, Givet, Emerton, Grella, Nzonzi, Hoilett, McCarthy, Di Santo. Subs: Brown (GK), Roberts, Pedersen, Andrews, Diouf, Kalinić, Salgado. Positive line up imo. No Andrews in the starting line up or pederson. Junior will be happy getting games and may want to stay at the club.
Backroom DE. Posted December 12, 2009 Backroom Posted December 12, 2009 Good line-up. Interesting to see Junior starting...
Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2009 Backroom Posted December 12, 2009 not a bad line up, looking at their team there isn't many I'd have in our team
Miker Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Very happy with this lineup, it's exactly what I wanted, but didn't think Sam would really decide to play Hoilett ahead of Diouf and Gamst, so good on him for doing so.
Messi422 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Where is Jacobson? He is even not on the bench for almost 3-4 games. What's happen?????
joey_big_nose Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Very good team. It is possible wewill play 4312 with this but probs 4411
philipl Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Pleased about that line-up. Now lets see what tactics and formation are....
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Happy with the lineup, good to see Benni keep his place and that Junior starts.
Miker Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Where is Jacobson? He is even not on the bench for almost 3-4 games. What's happen????? I wouldn't be surprised if he was given something similar to paternity leave. I think the club would usually not allow this, such as with Samba, but given we have Chimbonda, Salgado and Emerton all capable playing at right back, Jacobsen probably won't feature for a while now.
broadsword Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 But he's played games since he's become a Dad, doesn't make sense to me. I'd have thought that Allardyce just doesn't fancy him there if Chimbonda doesn't have to cover at left back.

I'd have thought that Allardyce just doesn't fancy him there if Chimbonda doesn't have to cover at left back. What I mean is he only plays if he's needed, ie. not all 3 right backs are available. I'm pretty sure the couple of times he played since then have been when we've had Chimbonda and Emerton injured or one of our right backs injured, so he was called up to the bench. I don't think there's any reason for Sam to not be happy with his performances so far.
RovertheHill Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Looks like we're going to have a go at them. Hope so - come on you blues
grizfoot Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 I'd argue that is our strongest possible line-up at present (Dunny would obviously been in if he was fit) and a very positive one at that. Back four seems settled now, Grella and Nzonzi controlled the midfield well against Liverpool last week. Got Emerton and Holiett who are both capable of carrying the ball forward and running at defenders. Then you've got the link-up play and finishing of McCarthy combined with the potential that Di Santo as. All-in-all a very promising line-up.
Iceman Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 If Sam wants to keep Benni and Junior, then he has to start them. Much better lineup by Sam, and im quietly confident of a result today. C'mon you Rovers.
Mr. E Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 hmm, this does feel like a pretty strong line-up. Di Santo really needs to start scoring, though.

I'd have thought that Allardyce just doesn't fancy him there if Chimbonda doesn't have to cover at left back. I think we have to bare in mind the upcoming Christmas fixtures, then the games with Villa. Rovers have cover in that area, so can afford to rest certain players.
bigbrandjohn Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 not a bad line up, looking at their team there isn't many I'd have in our team Works for me.
modes98 Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 All rovers and a goal disallowed, then Hull nip up the other end and almost catch us half asleep. Great save by Robbo.
doctorryan Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 nice one-timer by Benni - too bad it was way offside.
Mr. E Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 infuriating, this was 1-0 to us and the referee simply did not give it. How many times more for McCarthy?
