[Archived] Ewood Drinking....

Ewood Arms.... your only option. Sad but true.

Blackburn simply dose not have a large enough alchohol drinkning polulation to sustain a few town centre pubs on a Saturday night, never mind a Tuesday.

The Woodlands on Preston New Road - stays open quite late midweek and also has accommodation, can get quite busy on some midweek nights along with contractors from the new shopping centre also staying. Plus it's not too far to nip up the road into Preston, but thats maybe only on a Wed / Thurs.

There's also Uncle Jacks in Lower Darwen which is rather good since the refurb.

I'm liking Clitheroe a lot for a Sat night out at the moment.

With the game being moved to a Thursday does that mean there might be a little more going on?

You'd struggle to find something going on in Blackburn if it was played on a Saturday!

No

Well it's our darts night and I think we might be at home - so get down to Uncle Jacks, there'll be at least a dozen of us in plus some quality darts on show.... ;)

You'll not get a better offer than that... You'll not find a dozen people in Blackburn town centre unless you go in the Postal Order at 10am.

Don't know about before the game because we like to watch the match sober.

But afterwards we usually go to The Aqueduct, just up towards Blackburn from the Ewood Arms, over the river.

The pool room, small room up on the left, has loads of photos and memorabilia; photos of all the players since 1950s. It gets quite full and can be rowdy.

Try having a few beers before the game, it eases the pain.
