Correct - and yes your right, but like i said 'unless it dumps it down with snow' - which it just did!

I think if you had posted a message saying that you had received a text saying the game was off, but were unable to confirm the truth of the text, in one post. The it may be nearer an acceptable message. But simply saying the game was off was totally out of order.

I suggest you give it some thought and make an appology to people on here the whole thing can be put to bed and forgotton.

Hughsey, thanks for the original post.

I think it was decent of you to try to get information out to your fellow fans in good time.

If nothing else at least it did have people checking for an official word.

Next time though, put a bit more meat on the bones rather than just a quick one liner. That said, I don't think you deserve all the criticism coming your way.

Is Hughesy a whiirling dervisher?

Any more posts from him on the subject of the postponed game and he's going on ignore.

That simple GAME OFF post is the single most irresponsible post I think I have seen on here.

I suggest we all allow him to appologise first - before putting him on ignore. It is only a suggestion as I can understand the anger at his 'game off ' post.

I agree mate - SORRY to all I have annoyed by telling them it was off.

I agree it should of come with a health warning...next time il ensure I do that.

All have a great new year, spend some time indoors with your loved ones and enjoy the TV indoors tonight. Stay safe...and if you must go out - take plenty of warm clothing and a shovel incase your stuck. :brfc:

Hopefully when its re-arranged we can get a few more fans to the game too! :brfc:

Councils these days are so quick to quote health and safety regulations when we want to do something, yet ignore the same regulations themselves. Apparently if you cleared snow / ice from in front of your home and somebody later slips on it, you are liable - madness. The councils by not gritting pavements are breaking health and safety regulations.

Theres so much snow coming down, the main roads will be gritted but its a lost cause trying to fight the weather today.

You have to ask about the risk to your personnel out there gritting, is it safe, do they have the right equipment and training to carry out the task and will they be able to achieve their objective.

On Sunday the local paper, the Lancashire Telegraph lost the life one its drivers on the M65 due to the conditions.

Fair enough Hughesy.

To be honest I wondered if a scenario of the game going ahead with a warning to fans not to go just to meet the TV obligations was being considered.

Has to be said the weather forecasts look grim indeed. I wonder if the City v Manc game is going to happen given there is more snow expected following this lot?

We have a site in Altrincham, which I was meant to visit this morning. I'm told they had 8" snow at 8.00am and it has been snowing steadily since. My eldest lives in and works in Manchester city centre and says everything has ground to a halt, no public transport etc. He was worrying about getting back for tonight. As more snow is forecast it sounds as though it will be quite a task to get the City / Utd game on.

I predict an increase in work for "no win, no fee lawyers" in Liverpool.

My wife and I spent Christmas in Blackburn so as to take in a few games. Even then the pavements were bad. You say it is bad now and if it is still coming down it is hard to grit - I live near Hastings on the south coast and we haven't had any snow - though looking at the sky we are about to have some.

For god's sake, yeah you're right it was a great idea.

However, Hughesey has apologised and most people including Philip have accepted that. Can we not talk about something else now?

Gutted about today to be honest. Was really looking forward to it.

Can we not move the City game to a Saturday, play the 1st leg on a Wednesday and leave the Fulham game on Saturday?

It's still snowing over here!

Anyone know when we'll hear an announcement regarding the new date? Hughesy :P

Also I thought the club dealt with the situation brilliantly, also got a text off them to say the game was called off. :tu:

I'm in London what's all this snow you speak of,

According to SSN there's severe weather warnings for the South being issued with up to 40 cms snow possible in some places.

It obviously doesn't matter ooop North but as soon as it starts moving South they panick!!!

I would say we've had about 8" since last night at home.
