RevidgeBlue Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Its a question we need to ask the missing supporters, are you with the team, or not, despite your disapproval of the team, players, tactics, manager etc., It would help immensely if we could put up a fighting encouraging performance against City. Not the usual game over after 5 mins, "This isn't one of the games which will define our season" type 4 or 5-0 drubbing.
Mr. E Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 new date 14th Jan. ...three days after we get tonked by City, the player's confidence is way down, they are tired and most likely another important player gets injured?

True, think we are all looking for some hope rather than being expected to be blindly led down to Ewood to watch 'missmash' football JUST because its a semi final. Its the managers responsibility to pull his finger out and make sure hes got everything right regarding the football, which for many of us hes coming across as struggling with this aspect right now.
S15 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 We could have taken the FA Cup seriously after all.

With almost 2 weeks since our last game we have no excuses for not having a real go at City. We will probably still lose but we have to really go for it. As for positives about the postponement...will Grella now be back in time? Emerton would have had to have been rushed back and it gives Dunn some more time to get back up to speed as no doubt he would have started. This might be being too optimistic...but perhaps one or even two new faces in the squad by then?
Stuart Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I just made a Hughesy snowman but the carrot nose and charcoal eyes... CAME OFF!
Lurid Coat Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Any chance of taking out the snowman jokes and placing them in a separate thread? Some of them had me in hysterics (which probably speaks volumes about my taste in humour )
RovertheHill Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 FNARRR FNARRR!!! (i know it`s a bit late) lol. The gf thinks it`s 8inches outside.......& i`m quite happy to let her think 8inches looks like that Just measured the snow on my patio table and it's 7.5 inches deep
martonrover Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Thats a tough string of games coming up! I'm struggling to see any silver lining to the postponement We should never have agreed to the new date. City have the right idea by delaying both legs of their Semi by a week, thus giving them some breathing space.
Presty On Tour Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 We should never have agreed to the new date. City have the right idea by delaying both legs of their Semi by a week, thus giving them some breathing space. TBH I'm really ###### off with the new dates! My plan A is out the window! I'm in Blackburn for a party on the 15th and 16th and was set to see us at home to Fulham on the Saturday! Bloody Sunday now Grrrrrrrrrrr!
Hughesy Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Gaurdian article - mentions us as Blackeye Rovers Media tosspots! Blackeye Rovers they call us - cant see them slagging off any of the big teams

Blackeye Rovers they call us - cant see them slagging off any of the big teams I reckon "Barry and Barney" there must form the definition of the term keyboard warriors! Btw, SKY have wasted no time in switching tonight's live match to Stoke v Fulham. Thriller. (Although now I've said that, it's bound to finish 4-3 to one of them).

The official site says new dates will be announced in the morning.
Presty On Tour Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Have the dates been confirmed yet? The official site says new dates will be announced in the morning. Den posted this from the LET link It does say though that Rovers are expected to confirm these details tomorrow morning. So slim chance it could be wrong.

Paul Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Gaurdian article - mentions us as Blackeye Rovers Media tosspots! Blackeye Rovers they call us - cant see them slagging off any of the big teams I suspect you may have missed the point of The Fiver.
Hughesy Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I suspect you may have missed the point of The Fiver. I didnt miss them calling us 'Blackeye' - mud sticks and thats why we get soft refs against us more often than not!
JAL Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I didnt miss them calling us 'Blackeye' - mud sticks and thats why we get soft refs against us more often than not! The guy writing the article comes across as a Man United hooligan, the way he has a pop at ourselves and City.
stuwilky Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I suggest you read the back issues of The Fiver if they are available on the website. They have a pop at virtually everything all the time, its very funny.
McAds Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I think one of The Fivers main writers is a Villa fan, as they love to have a pop at Bongo-Bongo FC (Small Heath)
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I didnt miss them calling us 'Blackeye' - mud sticks and thats why we get soft refs against us more often than not! You've totally missed the point. They've labelled us 'Blackeye' for years as a joke dating back to when Hughes took charge. Get a grip its hardly serious.
cletus Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I think one of The Fivers main writers is a Villa fan, as they love to have a pop at Bongo-Bongo FC (Small Heath) This bit raised a smile.... "Burnley fans are keeping themselves warm in the cold snap by burning Owen Coyle effigies after their manager agreed to become manager of Bolton. Of course if their past form is anything to go by, Bolton fans are probably doing the exact same thing."
